Customizing appearance, uniform and name is free the first time you get a BO, within the bounds of race/gender of course.

Hey if you get a Beta Key do you have to pay to download the game?

Actually, even aside from race. Sure, it'll still "be" human or trill, or whatever. But my "andorian" bridge officer looks more like the soul hunters from B5

Hey, if anyone ended up with an extra beta key, I could really use one.

Not to my knowledge. When i started the Open Beta, I didn't have to fill one out.

This doesn't change the traits the characters have though, some of which are race dependent. And there's some wiggle room in appearance for sure, but you can't turn say a Vulcan into the appearance of a Saurian.

NDA only applies to the closed Beta. There is no NDA for the open Beta.

Where do you go to customize your bridge officers? Somewhere on Earth starbase?

As far as I can see, same guy you see to customize your main character. He's at the Earth Starbase. Can't remember his name, and I can't look it up either since I have canceled my pre-order and deleted the beta client.

I don't suppose you still have the beta key. Or is that a one time use thing?

But if you still have could you please send it to me?

You can customize BO's and your main character at any of the large starbases, including Earth spacedock. It's fairly obvious where the right place is, as there's a giant glowing guy there for some reason.

    Me, investigating the Hobus system.

In the background you can see the supernova remnant.

I like how the game manages to spin an interesting story out of the plot device that launched the Abramsverse.

There's also an explanation for the somewhat "wierd" science surrounding the event.
Although Romulus is 500 ly away, the shockwave was able to reach the planet in very short time because it traveled through subspace.

Not even Spock had anticipated that, which is why he arrived too late.

I can't see paying a monthly fee for this due to the ground game. It's just too much like City of Heroes/Champions Online but with a Star Trek skin. Space is OK, but the away team missions aren't fun. Even exploring on foot isn't fun, so I couldn't enjoy running around Deep Space 9.

Product keys are linked to the account. You can't create a new account and use my beta key, and I'm not giving someone my account.

    Sorry.

    Damn.

Sigh, looks like I will have to wait for the demo then.
