Ever seen the HBO miniseries From the Earth to the Moon? He's the star (well, one of them, anyway) of episode 3. He plays astronaut Wally Schirra.
I fell giddily, irrationally and suddenly in love with Robert Duncan McNeil (Tom Paris on ST: Voyager) when I was a 13 year old girl. Prior to that, I barely realized that the opposite sex even existed.
Yep, Mary Tyler Moore for me. I had a somewhat limited selection as a boy. My mom only let me watch two shows: Captain Kangaroo, and The Dick Van Dyke Show. Showing my refined sensibilities from an early age, I focused on Laura Petrie (and felt no attraction at all for Dancing Bear, Bunny Rabbit, and especially Mr Green Jeans). I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I found those controversial pantsuits and that whining "Rooooooob!" to be extremely sensual.
Probably when Lindsay Wagner was The Bionic Woman. I was about 8 years old then, but that infectious smile of hers made me want to hug her.
^ I think I had a bit of a girlcrush on Lindsay Wagner. She was pretty, athletic, smart and sucessful. Everything I wanted to grow up to be. (And her boyfriend was Steve Austin. That helped, too! )
Julie Newmar as Catwoman. Honorable mentions: Emma Peel (from THE AVENGERS) and Angelique (from DARK SHADOWS).
I didn't have any TV crushes in my teenage years. I had crushes on several musicians, though. So, now at 27 I'm currently experiencing my first TV crush. It's David Tennant from Doctor Who. I'm so mainstream...
And his character on Chicago Hope was the first (that I'm aware of) to say the S-word onscreen in prime time TV..He plays one of the doctors on the show. He was being hauled before a medical review board who were demanding to know why one of his patients, a promising high school athlete, had to have a limb amputated. He just said, "Shit happens." And my dad, who is a doctor, says that this is exactly what any doctor would say.
Damn, I know you must be living in a foreign country if Doctor Who is mainstream. God bless America & all that but... damn.
I'd have to say Marina Sirtis as Deana Troi in TNG. Even more so when I finally got to meet her in person! Then it would have to be Claudia Black As Aeryn in Farscape.
