Conveniently it always got shredded severly during the final act of the movie.

Also i've been seeing comments that the new material looks too much like a basketball.

Well I can make out the spider emblem better with an orange hue. :)

The spider emblem, to me, looks like tearing/smudges on the suit more than an emblem/logo.

It's just torn up because he's been in a fight.

The emblem is also the same one used from the Raimi movies.

    No. No it is not.

(The "Spalding" one used because the color/light was better on it making the emblem clearer.)

Well they're the "same" in that all Superman emblems are "S"'s inside of a shield-shape but the "new" Spider-man logo looks a bit more stylized and "modern" to me.

(But, granted, the suit looks damaged in that cap.)

It almost looks like his suit melted and warped.

Two of those bottom "legs" are tracing along the edge of the blue, which makes them hard to see. That's a goofy design decision. They should have left at least a bit of red on the other side of them.

It makes him look like "Cave Spider Man."

Spidey apparently had a battle with the Lizard(Three slashes on chest) His dirty look could be from the fight being in the sewers.

I kinda figured they would go that route, to further differentiate themselves from Raimi's version.

I think it's kinda funny that in most, nearly all regards, Raimi's Spider-man movies were so in the spirit of the 1960s Spider-man comics, yet came up with organic webshooters. Yet the Webb version, which seems to be influenced by the Ultimate Spider-man series, seems to be dispensing with the organic shooters and reverting to the mechanical ones. You'd think it would be the other way round.
