While I haven't been as pumped for the series as a whole, which I'm still getting, I'm curious abut this issue of Avenging as well.

^ I'm a Carol/Peter shipper (even though it'd probably never happen) and any time they team up I'm on board!

Re: Heroic Age/Avengers Ongoing Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

    EDIT*:
They have announced a Peter David written adaptation of Joss Whedon's first Astonishing X-Men arc. I wonder if they'll set all of these in their own consistent universe, or if each one will be completely stand alone?
*I didn't notice there was another page when I originally wrote the post.

Really? Peter David adapting Whedon X-Men? Man I missed a lot of news while I was on hiatus.

Re: Heroic Age/Avengers Ongoing Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

Some post-AvX Marvel rumors from Bleeding Cool. Rich flat out states that some of this is bound to be wrong, except Gillen/Land on Iron Man, which seems definite.

I'll follow Hickman and Gillen wherever they wind up, and a Mark Waid-penned Avengers Assemble sounds like a winner. I need to hear more about Bendis' cosmic project before deciding.

Gillen on Iron Man is the most consistent rumor I've read over the last few months. I would drool for Hickman on Uncanny. I've also heard "Avengers" for Hickman.

Alpha is the first Spider Totem.

Gillen on Iron Man will get me back in that book. Same with Waid on an Avengers book.

Re: Heroic Age/Avengers Ongoing Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

Rich is reporting creator changes again...take these with a grain of salt if you like, but as I've said before, he usually turns out to be correct with these things.

    http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/06/13/astonishing-avengers-from-remender-and-opena/

    http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/06/13/jonathan-hickman-and-esad-ribic-on-the-avengers/

    http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/06/13/matt-fraction-and-salvador-larocca-take-on-fantastic-four/

and finally the one many have been dreading...

    http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/06/13/brian-bendis-to-write-x-men-and-uncanny-x-men/

In the last article, Rich does say let's see how it all pans out but I'm thinking most of these if not all of these will be confirmed by Marvel over the next weeks.

If true, I will probably be dropping Fantastic Four and Uncanny X-Men.

Re: Heroic Age/Avengers Ongoing Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

I'll check out a Fraction FF for a while as well. Bendis on any X Book...not so much. He's proven any time he has written something with X-Men, that he can't write them. So no. Hickman on Avengers has me drooling with potential. We should get word on these some time in the next few weeks...or Marvel will just wait until SDCC.

While I am a huge fan of Fraction's Defenders, I really haven't really been too impressed with him overall. Who knows? Maybe the word of mouth will convince me otherwise. It wouldn't be the first time. I love the FF, they are the first super-team I ever followed, so I want it to be good.

His early Iron Man work is excellent, same with his Uncanny X-Men run. Hickman is just going to be very tough to follow no matter how good you are IMO. He GOT what the Fantastic Four was all about. He made me a fan of the first family again, for the first time in a long time.

Re: Heroic Age/Avengers Ongoing Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

That's pretty much the first step to me in confirming Rich's reports. I don't think Slott is going anywhere. He reported on his facebook page he was well into plotting 2013's Spidey stories (and very much doubt that he has finished his master plan for Amazing) He might add a book to his work load though, I doubt it. It should noticed that the articles I posted today aren't rumors. The article posted the other day was and Rich stated so. The creative changes he mentioned were through his own sources, and those usually turn out to be correct.
