They've tampered with the roar again. Boo. It just isn't right without that little upward flourish at the end. It sounds like they're trying to do a much deeper, slowed-down version of same, but it doesn't work as well.
I'd imagine they'd use a variety of different roars depending on what Godzilla is doing, in this regards I thought the Millennium film was good for this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asq2qhaSMTU Also, one thing about this teaser that surprised me was seeing all the dead bodies from the train wreck, did Godzilla carry it around in his mouth (like the old '54 photo) or did one of the monsters trash it? Can't tell from the shots in the trailer but since it seems to be lying across a road, I wonder how far away it is from the railway tracks, if it was carried or knocked some distance away that'd a be a pretty terrifying way to go.
^As I recall, the train looked as though it had been flattened, so I'd think it was more likely stepped on (and maybe dragged?) than bitten.
The studio keeps getting the trailer taken down. I'm not sure if that's brilliant marketing, making us work to find it, or a stupid decision to hide something that actually makes people want to see the film.
Well, other than it not being an authorized release, I think a part of it is also because this is the old 2012 Comic Con teaser. Apparently when it was shown again this year, the dead Kaiju had been replaced by the insect looking one from the second trailer, which was screened with it this year.
I was a little disappointed with that roar. Although I like it slower and deeper...(that sounds dirty) I think it needs more of that upward flourish at the end. Hopefully that will tweak it by the time the movie comes out.
i have no problem with the roar. if anything i think i'll have more trouble getting use to Godzilla's look in this film. yes, i'm aware that he has had many many 'looks' over time. but something about his head feels...off.
