What never/poorly adapted novel/comic series would you like to see?

With so many book and comic series being adapted, I was just wondering what series that are not being adapted or were badly adapted people would like to see on TV or at the movies?
My picks would be:
The Dresen Files: We did get the Syfy series, but they barely had anything to do with the books. I know they did do one episode loosely based on the first one, but I would love to see more of them getting closer adaptation. At the least I would love to see them include more characters from the books, like the Carpenters, Butters, The Alphas, Toot-Toot and the pixies, and the Fae.
The Hollows: This was almost a CW series, and I was really sad when it didn't get picked up.
Kate Daniels: I love these books, and would be beyond thrilled if someone did accurate adaptations of them.

Isaac Asimov's Nightfall has been adapted twice for film, and failed miserably both times. God, I'd love to see a PROPER film version of this novel.

To further expand on that, I wouldn't mind seeing X-Men adapted more faithfully from the comics. And that includes making it an actual ensemble piece and not just a starring vehicle for Logan.

The the 1988 adaptation was one of the worst films I'd ever seen. I'd never even heard of the 2000 adaptation until you mentioned it. It's a shame this property has been just pissed away, though I've never read the novel, but rather only the original short story.

I don't think Dune has been given a proper treatment. Sci Fi Channel's Children of Dune has come closest, and their Dune came in as second-closest, in my view. The Lynch version had some good things going for it, such as the cast, the music, and the overall look, which though not perfect was more than adequate, but the liberties it took, especially in the story, weren't for my taste.

I'd love a Legion of Super-Heroes movie, with the full Legion of course. And an Inhumans movie.

Of course, my pièce de résistance is Piers Anthony's Macroscope.

The comic series "Runaways" would make a good TV show.

Terry Brooks's "Running with the Demon" (And even the whole Word and the Void trilogy) could be a great movie/trilogy and is pretty much the only property of his that I think really deserves to be adapted.

"Snow Crash" seems ripe for a film adaptation, though it would probably require some retooling of the 80s version of the future it embodies.

It is well past time for "The Stand" to get a second try, either as a film or a limited series.

"Deadpool" of course, and I suspect that will actually happen sometime soon.

The X-Men films have never sat right with me as X-Men films. I like most of them, but they just don't feel like "The X-Men" to me.

"Gargoyles" deserves a live-action film adaptation. How Disney hasn't done this yet is completely insane to me.

"Wild Cards" is an interesting universe that could easily support a film franchise or a TV series.

Nope, not optional, I want it all. The novels are incredible, I love the trilogy.

Then there's "The NeverEnding Story", the book is one of the greatest books I ever read but the movie adaptation is poor, it's only the first third of the story and it screws up the ending by having Bastian get revenge on the bullies.
Most people only saw the movie and don't even realize Bastian becomes the villain of the story for some time, it's about his rise, fall and redemption and in the end he realizes he was acting like a selfish asshole and becomes a better person.
Some of those ideas were used in the second movie but it sucked ass and had almost nothing to do with the book. Then there was the third movie and the tv mini series and the cartoon, so many adaptations and not a single one got it right.

^ this. And the '88 version was just an excuse to make bad porn.

But my main choices would have to be Battlefield Earth and the Mission: Earth series. And I agree with Venardhi that a Wild Cards TV series would work very well - maybe we'll get it when they run out of Game of Thrones source material to adapt?

I know there's been at least one British miniseries, but I would love to see a big new remake of Day of the Triffids., since the original movie version is rather disappointing.
