I think the window for a JJverse Shatner appearance to really work has already passed. Specifically, the scene in Trek XI that was written for Shatner which never happened. That would've been absolutely perfect and I very much doubt that anything else they try will hit home with the same force. Better to leave it alone than half-ass it.

On the other hand? Shatner is an octogenarian now. If they're going to do this, it needs to be as soon as possible.

Meh. I've always liked Spock more than Kirk anyway.

You would think, but I'm starting to think Shatner will outlive me, and I'm in my 20s.

The guy looks phenomenal for 81.

Everyone's (including me) always raved at how Patrick Stewart still looks the same after all these years, but in the last couple of years I think even stewart has starting to show his age more than Shatner, and he's 10 years younger. A lot of that surely has to do with plastic surgery, which Shatner has had plenty of, but hey, it's all fair game in showbiz!

If that's what plastic surgery did for him...

It's not just the looks, it's the vitality he exudes.

I can buy the vitality part. I've never not seen him have a liveliness to him, but I also haven't seen most of his ST work. I think I've seen more of him as Denny Crane.

Are you kidding? He's 81. I think your picture proves my point. Have you seen many 81 year olds lately? They usually look like they maybe have a few years left to live. He could pass as a 60 year old easily.

Show me an 81 year old man who looks and seems younger.

Try this. Google image search "81 year old" and see what comes up. Then tell me you don't think Shatner looks young as hell for his age.

He may have fewer wrinkles; I'll give you that, but then, so does Joan Rivers...

As do most people who have plastic surgery. I'd say 70, he couldn't pass as 60.

My grandmother's 73 and people guess she's 60 maximum. Some people look younger naturally. The only thing natural left about Shatner is his equator .

I don't care how much plastic surgery he's had, plastic surgery doesn't give you the kind of non stop energy he has.

Sometimes I can't believe what lengths people go to talk trash about someone they don't like.

Normally it's very obvious when someone has their face surgically "enhanced" ... I can see no such thing in Shatner's face! Looks very natural to me.

I wasn't implying Shatner's on meds, I was just saying there are medications that increase energy. How am I supposed to know if he is or isn't doped up?
