^^ And the ending where Kirk is intent on retrieving Lolani goes to that point. He can't live with that decision of handing her over to Zaminhon. But now he has to live with it because if he had refused the order initially Lolani would still be alive.

    Interesting take.

Ferrigno was great; believable as one who genuinely sees himself in the right (so he's not an over the top antagonist), yet the undercurrent of villainy was interesting.

It's been asked when Episode 3 will be released. Answer: this summer.

Apparently actress Kipleigh Brown (who guest starred in an ENT episode) will be a guest star in STC's Episode 3. From a hint from Eps. 3 director James Kerwin she might be playing someone in the command division and could be connected to (or reprising) a character from TOS.

Here is the podcast (scroll down) with the interview with Kipleigh Brown and James Kerwin: http://truepodcastmedia.com/mmoshow...al-log-2-in-depth-w-kipleigh-james-and-chase/

Funny how these little bits of info get out.

Both Kipleigh and James did an awesome job. I believe that this will be the best STC episode yet. During the shoot there was a great energy on set and the script is great. As with all of these fan productions; we probably won't please everyone but I think a majority will approve. :)

So far STC is two for two in my book. The episodes weren't perfect, but then quite a few TOS episodes weren't perfect either and I still enjoyed the hell out of them.

For me a major strength of STC (besides recreating that fantastic TOS vibe in look and feel and sound) is their choice of subject matter. They seem intent on going for more challenging kinds of drama. It isn't that fist fights or starship combat might not show up, but that isn't their main intent.

When Vic Mignogna said his favourite TOS episode was "Requiem For Methuselah" that gave me a sense of where he'd like this production to go. And I can respect that because that kind of story goes beyond conventional fanfic or fannish type material.

There is a sense with many that so much has been done in Star Trek that one can wonder what is left to be done, what is there left to address? Sadly a lot of things that were of concern in the 1960s are still with us in conjunction with other issues that are new to our times. "Lolani" touching upon the issue of human trafficking is acknowledgement of something going back thousands of years. "Lolani" was more upfront than an episode like "Gamesters Of Triskelion," but they each touched upon similar subject matter.

Racism is still with us. Religious extremism is still with us. Political corruption is still with us. War is still with us. Militarism is still with us. Economic inequality is still us. Those are but a few that Star Trek commented on among others and no reason these could not be revisited in new ways.

Of course, there's also some good old-fashioned space adventure to be had as well. :)

Another little tidbit from the James Kerwin interview. STC doesn't want to get into the spoiler or even misdirection business. Vague little hints might get dropped, but they want to recreate that feeling many would have about films and television episodes in those days long before the internet when you had no idea what was coming.

So far I'm pretty okay with that.

The slaver ship was modified from a Matt Jefferies design. I'm also glad they ignored what ENT did.

It appears, short of their teaser graphic being April Fool's jest, that STC's third episode will be set in or at least involve the alternate universe from "Mirror, Mirror."

Hopefully there's good reason to take us back there. It's obviously a rich sandbox, but could easily turn into what many people call "fan service" as well. Being as I was so satisfied with "Lolani," I'm optimistic for the moment about how it will shake out.

I have mixed feelings about this. I'm liking STC so far and a big reason is their stated intent to be faithful to how TOS approached things.

I'm not a fab of revisiting characters even though it was done on TOS when they broght back Harry Mudd. I'm one who really doesn't care for "I, Mudd" and TAS' "Mudd's Passion" was no improvement. All the spin-off series did revisits and few of them impressed me. The only ones I thought worked (although still not near as good as "Mirror, Mirror" was TNG's "Sarek" and DS9's "Crossover." Beyond that it was a mixture of "Meh" and "Why bother?"

STC's "Pilgrim Of Eternity" was a revisit, but they managed to pull it off. I'd rather they didn't go back to the Mirror Universe, but if they do I hope they manage to do something worthwhile with it. If the story was solely about the Mirror Universe characters without any crossover then perhaps that could be interesting.

    I guess we'll see.

    Why bother?

    It's called ''easy ratings''

Well they've confirmed it will be a Mirror Universe story.

I have very mixed feelings about this. So far I liked the direction STC was going, but revisiting the past again so soon after revisiting Apollo in "Pilgrim Of Eternity" is questionable. The MU has been done to death in DS9 and ENT and most of that was a waste of time. DS9's first MU story was fine, but the rest were totally pointless. The ENT story's sole redeeming element was that it was entirely in the MU with its characters, but a lot of it was continuity porn.

Another crossover of characters would be tired and creatively pointless. The only way I could see this as interesting is if they manage a story set entirely in the MU with its characters and without any crossover and continuity porn.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to the story's quality. There's no doubt in my mind that they could do a very good crossover story that's not a thematic retread. But they could just as easily make something pretty bad that leaves you wondering, "why did they do that?"

I'm going to go into it hoping for the best, since I enjoyed their last effort so much.

I like STC. It's excellent. That said, I am no fan of mirror universe episodes. When I rewatch the various series', I tend to skip over them, or at least fast forward them. They just don't appeal to me. Still, I figure whatever we get, it will be top quality from the STC team, and I'm eager to see that.

While I am not a huge fan of the mirror universe I can honestly say that the STC 3 script was excellent and I do believe it will be the strongest STC episode to date.

I really like STC and so believe me I hope to be proven wrong in my reservations.

Always one step forward and two steps back for fan productions. They made a big leap with their last episode and now they've fallen back on the same ol' fan film/fiction tropes.

The challenge is to bring something fresh to the table. DS9 managed that to an extent with their first MU episode, but the followups to it were not nearly as interesting. The ENT MU episode simply re-affirmed what we already knew without adding anything of interest...unless one really likes continuity porn.

Although I am skeptical I'm certainly not all knowing. They could well give us something unexpected and really knock it out of the park. Like I said I'd love to be proven wrong.

Starship Farragut managed to do a Mirror Universe episode that was only technically a Mirror Universe episode at the very end.

speaking of which, I'm kind of surprised that STC has managed to whip out 3 épisodes in the last year and a half and Farragut has stalled on their one scheduled outing. Surprised since, y'know, both are under the same production house?
