Just breaking on the BBC... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14262237 Can't say I'm surprised. But it's sad all the same. R.I.P.
Amazingly, it was on wikipedia first... I guess we don't need Gil Grissom to tell us this'll be a drink/drugs overdose thing. Y'know, I don't believe I've ever heard a song of hers - only know her from reports of being pissed and stoned. Same goes for that Pete Doherty as well. I'd never have pegged her as 27 - doubtless a heart and liver age of about 95....
Doubtless there will be a lot of nasty comments but it's still sad, hope she finds some peace in whatever might come next.
Shocked but sadly not surprised. For a person to slide so much down there must have been many demons that plagued her.. for many people it's monetary problems and loss of work that starts it which is obviously not the case with her. It's sad that no one could help her and it's sad as weel we won't her more music from her since i'm a big fan of her voice and style. Rest in peace.
Neither shocked nor surprised but I wouldn't - unlike some comments I've seen elsewhere - call it good news (as the person from whom I heard about it did!)
She was a talented woman, but, God, what a screwed-up life. It was more than likely she wouldn’t make it to 30. I hope at least she’s at peace now.
Not surprised, given her lifestyle; sad that it ended this way. I used to think "Rehab" was really obnoxious in light of subsequent developments, now it's more tragic.
Wasn't a fan but none the less 27 is way, way too young I hope she finds the peace she couldn't find here on earth. Condolences to her family and friends.
One of the comments on the YouTube video of "Rehab" is "Does your daddy think you're fine now?" I laughed, then immediately felt bad about it.
And another entry for the "Club 27" list. Hard not to see it coming, but it's sad thing. I don't know a lot of her music, but I liked her voice. --Justin
Sad to hear about this. She was on a road downhill though, so once the shock of seeing it in the news has worn off, I'm not too surprised. 27 is too young, really.
Sad to hear of her passing. I'm also sad that it is apparently okay to make light of it on Facebook by posting "I guess she should have gone to rehab, after all". I must have seen a dozen variations of it so far today.
Count me among those who don't care. Another person blessed with talent that thought it was a license to act like a dumbass.
