I have only a dozen episodes in my library, but I tend to watch "Year of Hell" the most. Kurtwood Smith as Annorax is one of the most ruthless, yet tragic, villains to appear in the franchise. And there's some nifty CGI at the climax.
Timeless has always been my favorite episode. And here's my favorite vid of it.. very poignant. [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SheNtXMntbM[/yt]
Hmm, hard to point out a single "favorite" but I'll just list off some I liked a lot. Living Witness... campy fun with the "warship Voyager' and a great story about the Doctor. Tinker Tenor Doctor Spy... this episode always makes me smile. Lot of silliness about the Doctor's fantasies, and sure he's humiliated when it comes out, but in the end he gets to play the hero and save the day after all. Blink of an Eye... I liked how we got to see the evolution of a whole species all in one episode. It captured a real feeling about looking up to the sky and literally reaching for the unknown all with a happy ending. Distant Orgin... space dinosaurs! How cool is that? Sure they're jerks, but most aliens in Trek are, so why not? Fun stuff. Death Wish... easily one of the best Q stories in the Trek franchise. The only bad thing to come up with this, it was so successful they just -had- to make a sequel which was epic fail. None of the ones on that list made my favorite lists, but if I had to pick one... Scorpion. Not because of the Borg/8472 bit but because of the Janeway and Chakotay conflict. The tension and drama between the two really carried the episode for me. This is what we should've been seeing more of to make the show really great. I also liked Timeless a lot though. Amazing they crammed that much action into a single part episode -and- made the future Kim and Chakotay seem interesting!
Favourites - Scientific Method, Worst Case scenario, Waking Moments, Message in a Bottle, Good Shepard, Blink of an eye, Shattered, Bliss and i'd mention Tuvix as well- not massively entertaining but i'd say it's one of the most grown up episodes with an excellently uncompromising ending (which surprised me)
QFT. I absolutely love Living Witness. The revisionist history, the darkness, the contrast of the dark Voyager to the one we know and love. Brilliant. After that it would probably be Counterpoint, Year of Hell and Scorpion.
I missed Living Witness during the series original run and ended up not seeing it until 2004. Needless to say, I think the episode is incredibly overrated. Favorites: Basics I/II, The Thaw, Warlord and Unity.
I really love Someone to Watch Over Me. I loved it when Seven and the Doctor interacted, and this was them at their best.
I think my recent separation has had more of an affect than I realised. Janeway is just sooo hot in that.
Ah hell, I don't do crushes on characters or the actress behind them (well, not counting Erin Gray when I was a kid watching Buck Rogers) but Janeway is indeed desirable. When I watched Deadlock recently and the two Janeways were face to face in engineering I found myself thinking "Kiss... Kiss!"
Well I was thinking.. Pips. Fiddling. And then.. Janeway: I'm glad to see I've kept my body in such great shape all those years!
