linky The Three Doctors set is now out. It includes the weird cell guard, the Brig (finally!) ... and Useless.
Odd, you must have seen a different set. The one I just ordered has the Brigadier like yours, but mine has a Gel Guard and Jo Grant as she was dressed in that serial. Sincerely, Bill
Well I'll say this about the scale change - by going smaller it IS possibly they could come out with some more playset type things. Like the new Tardis control room and other set pieces. Although what really would make Dr. Who toys more fun at that scale would be the aliens. Being able to army build Sontarans would be kinda funny a veritible Mr. Potato Head army
As with the Enemies of the First Doctor and Third Doctor sets, there's only one piece in this one I want. And while a Roboman and Omega will never be released singly, and probably not a two-pack, there's a very good chance there'll be another release or two for the Brig. Leela had three releases, Peri two so the Brig should definitely get more than just this release.
I would love to have a two-pack with the Brig and the older Two in his fur coat from the Five Doctors.
Details on upcoming toys revealed at the London Toy Fair: The Doctor Who Site And now for some pics! The Clara and Weeping Angel figures, standing in one of the diorama playsets: A Series 7 Cyberman: An overhead view of the "The Angels Take Manhattan" playset: Another playset, as well as a Dalek in his platform thing from Asylum of the Daleks: Imagery of "Iconic Scenes Collectors' Sets": Limited run Anniversary Dalek with lights and sounds: All images are from The Doctor Who Site. There's way to many images to post here, so go to their Toy Fair Flickr page for the full gallery where you can also see the new scale TARDIS, Wave 2 of the Talking Daleks, and DW "Mashems". And here's their gallery for the Character Building stuff, for anyone interested in that.
The handbag looks like an accessory that comes with the figure, looks like you can take it off if you don't like it. If those are the 3.75 Doctor re-releases shown with the limited edition Dalek then I'm most likely going to pick those up as well
The Dalek is big. Those figures are old ones from the 11 Doctors set from a while back, and are there to advertise the reissue of the set. The new, smaller size is only for modern Who. Classic Who toys will still be made in the same size.
The only figures I'll be collecting now are the classics as they're still being done in the 5" scale. My interest in figures, since I'm not a kid playing them, is Doctors, companions and certain baddies, mainly Daleks and Cybermen. Hopefully FP & UT will commission the occasional new series figure in the 5" scale as exclusives or for SDCC.
Ummh. Rather wish they'd made the Axon a little less accurate to the costumes as seen on set, and slightly more like they were supposed to look and did in artwork... ie, no obvious sleeves! (Like I wouldn't want a Silurian figure with an obvious gap between mask and body, however often they came loose onscreen in Warriors of the Deep).head and
