It's actually pretty satisfying in a way, as someone who loved the film, to see the way the more unreasonable and frustrated would-be critics flail without having any effect whatever on...anything.
Well, at least this topic has changed from the 'improve the J.J.prise by replacing it with the tmp enterprise' thread into the... Random nonsense thread?
It is, and I'm not stopping any of them from doing so, I just like giving them a good poke with the proverbial stick now and then.
So, you didn't refuse to see it out of a positional statement, then, because you ultimately saw it when you didn't have to pay for it. You refused to see it because you're cheap? Not sure that's the crusade you were looking for...
Of course they would say that! Everyone of them was being paid to do those roles. Their paychecks were at risk. It doesn't mean that TNG was a poor iteration of Trek.
There's the matter of the inevitable crack of "how can you criticize something you haven't even seen?", so in order to be taken seriously in criticizing it, seeing it is something of a requirement. Fortunately, I had a pass to a press screening, so I didn't have to deal with the dilemma of supporting something I knew was going to be a big steaming pile just so I could credibly point out that it's a big steaming pile.
What do a great many of Pubiusr's posts have to do with the threads he posts in? Increasingly, nothing at all. Like in the "Star Trek in Lego" thread, where he posted a whole bunch of links to sci-fi toys that had nothing at all to do with the subject at hand. Interesting? Almost always. Relevant? Hardly ever.
Legos are toys. Just my 2 cents but yes sometimes his posts are not relevant or are barely relevant but i enjoy them anyways
