    Odo's not even male.

It's occurred to me that Odo's humanoid form probably looks male-ish simply because Dr Mora was male.

Although, when you scan Odo in humanoid form, you scan a humanoid. Which implies that in humanoid form, he contains the same chemicals which cause sexual attraction.

Therefore, Odo is aesexual in his natural state, and chooses what sexuality to adopt in solid state.

For me, the confusion was when he had sex for the first time with that one human (I think) woman, I forget her name, but he mentioned that he had something that might be considered a sexual experience on his homeworld (referring to linking with the female changeling). Then all the linking with the female changeling when she's on DS9 take on a sort of sexualized aspect, and Kira seems jealous and wants him to promise not to do that with her (though that doesn't mean it's the same as sex, of course).

I don't think sexual orientation really applies to him, though, since a liquid would not have genitals in its natural state. If they all just form a big ocean on the homeworld, then I can't imagine sexual orientation having much use there.

Metasexual. But male gender and orientation as a solid.

Unless you would call his relationship with Quark as having sexual undertones.

If so, what show were you watching?

I could actually picture Quark in one of his creepier moments asking Odo to take a female form.

I don't think they have the same sexual orientations as solids.

What I picture (you made me picture it, shut up) is Quark getting unwantedly aroused by the sight of Odo in a particularly alluring female form and freaking out about it.

I can hear that high pitched ferengi screaming now..
