If one considers those science fiction cartoons you're making the term so broad as to be virtually meaningless (as same criteria will include the Simpsons, South Park, et cetera).

Invader Zim, then Samurai Jack. The Tick is pretty good too, if it counts.

The Real one of course. ;)

This is an odd selection of shows to be sure, both in terms of sticking to the topic (scifi cartoons) and in what made it/didn't make it.

    Exo-Squad
    Cowboy Bebop
    Batman Animated Series
    Gun X Sword
    Macross

And sanitized fanwank of Imperial Japan/Imperial Japanese Navy and the Great East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere.

Japan has a good record (even in the current death throes of the anime industry) of doing science fiction related animation and using ideas from science fiction writers like Asimov and Clarke.

Had to go with Cowboy Bebop. Some of these aren't even sci-fi...

Why is there only one Batman series on the list?

Also where is Return to the Planet of the Apes?

My vote goes to Sealab 2021. :bolian:
