Saving "Defiant"--has some good action, follow ups to earlier DS9 and TNG and helps to setup later episodes.

I'll do the other half of the obvious choice and save Improbable Cause.

Wow anyone who rates DS9 at the top of the Trek Tree hasn't had to decide which of these turkeys to save.

I'll go for The Search (I) I like the Defiant.

Facets, it's the most interesting Dax episode (even if it's not so much about Jadzia) and I liked getting to know more about her previous hosts. Meeting Curzon at last was particularly interesting.

Also, Quark talking about the beauties of motherhood. :rommie:

Yeah, people often tend to see season 3 as the turning point for the series, when it started to become great, but....aside from a half-dozen highlights, I think it's probably the weakest season of the whole show.

A no-brainer: Past Tense II saved. How could this have remained on the list for so long? An excellent two-parter of which this is the slightly better part: Exciting and with a thing or two to say about the state of US society.

I actually consider Past Tense I the most interesting half. Certainly the more thought-provoking of the two. Both safe now anyway. :p

w00t, time to swing by real quick and save an episode!

    The Search (II)
    The Abandoned
    Meridian
    Prophet Motive
    Through the Looking Glass
    Family Business

And I knew it'd come down to this! There are still a few here I rather like but aren't terribly popular. "Heart of Stone" gets the save -- sorry, haters! -- mainly because Nog's arc really takes off here.

Phew, back from work to save something at least!

I'm shocked The Abandoned made it this far, so I'll save it. I just really like Odo in this one.

Can't vote in this thread anymore, it's like trying to decide which red headed step child you want to beat least.

Heading off to bed now....was very very tempted to save Meridian as some strange part of me actually doesn't mind it (especially the B-plot)...but I just can't in good conscience when Through the Looking Glass is still there, which is a fun action romp. Before the mirror universe got too tedious and silly.

The Search (II). The dream resolution might have been a cop-out, but I still don't get the hate. And it's much better than what is left. (And much better than some that have been saved *cough* Fascination *cough*.)

Glad someone saved it, I wanted to save that too but I liked The Abandoned a bit more. The bottom 4 is pretty yukky now. Just missing Fascination really!

I'll save Prophet Motive. As a Ferengi episode, it sucks slightly less than Family Business, which has Moogie in it.

Me and Geck posted at almost the same time, so which 4 are you referring to? :rommie: It is 3 now.

    Season 1 is weaker.

Here's a quick breakdown of my somewhat unconventional (mainly the first-place choice) feelings on DS9:

    7 > 5 > 6 > 2 > 4 > 3 > 1.

Sorry, I'm from GameFAQs. We rank things for a living, it feels like. Anyway, they're all solid to me except the first year, which is passable but shaky. Third season being the weakest overall is definitely not something I can get behind.

 I can't keep up. I was replying to you so was including The Search Part 2 in there...

Yeah season 1 is weaker than 3, but I like season 2 a hair more. I guess it depends on how into Bajor you were or not.

    The correct (;)) sequence is: 5-7-6-4-2-3-1. Though 6 & 7, and 4 & 2 tend to float around a bit if I'm rewatching.

And woo! Meridian is this season's stinker! Though we all knew this! This episode does have a pretty amazing B-plot though.

I was fingers-crossed someone wasn't going to rush in and feel otherwise about it because I really dislike it! Makes "Family Business" look like "Past Tense" as far as I'm concerned -- in other words, not the best but still pretty damn good. (And "Family Business" is, of course, not exactly stellar.)

Actually I was the one who saved The Search II. :rommie:
