Pretty sure it's a rule that when reviewers don't receive advance copies of a game, it's because the publishers don't want the lawsuits from all the minds being blown.
I too am looking for actual reviews on this one as well. What little I have heard has not been super positive, but I am one of the masses of WD fans, and if it's a decent game, I'll play it. Any new players of this one?
Kotaku dogged it. Kirk Hamilton called it the worst game he's played this year. Ouch! http://kotaku.com/5991559/the-walking-dead-survival-instinct-is-the-worst-game-ive-played-this-year
IGN gives it a 4.5 out of 10. http://m.ign.com/articles/2013/03/22/the-walking-dead-survival-instinct-review I don't know. I liked the Telltale game a lot, but I think the games journalism community totally overrated it. I wonder if some of the bad reaction to Survival Instinct is tied to some weird sense of loyalty to the Telltale version.
You're better off picking up the Telltale Walking Dead games if you haven't played those yet. Easily my favorite game from last year. Just gonna leave this here for Survival Instinct--it is most definitely not a case of reviewer loyalty to the Telltale games. [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rC-HBQbeLgU[/yt] Oddly enough, all the reviews of read of this game (which are universally negative) make it sound like a shitty 3D version of Organ Trail, a game I just purchased on Steam. If you're old enough to have played the source material, this game is awesome. http://hatsproductions.com/organtrail.html
OK... I actually read some of the reviews and I viewed the video. This game looks and sounds terrible.
Totalbiscuit does a 45 minute first look at the game. It doesn't look good. [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5sohwDTyPg[/yt]
lucky me I took the game back to gamestop and I never looked at the receipt. they never charged me for the game so I pretty much tried it out for free . still don't get it
