Am I able to send weapons in the mail? I can't find anything saying i can't but when I try the items don't attach to the message.

-Turns out they are 'Bound' Items so cant be sent via mail.

    True this.

You can send anything not bound. So, items with the "bind on pickup" cannot be attached to be sent even to another character from your same account (last time I tried, at least). But crafting materials, generic equipment and weapons and special "bind on equip" items not bound can be transferred.

There are 3 types of items:

Common (White) - Can be e-mailed to any character.

Bind on Pickup (BOP - Green, Blue, Purple) - These items become bound to the individual character as soon as they appear in your inventory. Any 'Bound' item is tied to that character only, and while you can sell it back to NPCs, you cannot e-mail it to another character, or put it up on the Exchange.

Bind on Equip (BOE - Green, Blue, Purple) - These items become bound to the individual character once they are actuall equipped (worn) on that character; or equipped on your ship in a weapon, console, or device slot; and you'll get a pop up Dialogue Box asking if you're sure you want to equip the item because once you do, it's 'bound' to that character. Like BOP items, once bound, you can sell it back to NPCs, you cannot e-mail it to another character, or put it up on the Exchange. As long as you DO NOT use/equip these items, you can e-mail them to other characters, or put them up on the Exchange.

The new Rhode Island Nova Class variant is on Tribble.
Tested it last night and now I'm worried.
It is the first time Cryptic is introducing a variant of an existing ship that is more powerful then the old one at the same tier to the C-Store.
You gain a second Lieutenant level science power and another science console slots without any drawbacks at all.
This is the first serious step to people paying for an undeniable advantage.
So far you could buy a lot of useful stuff, not not necessarily superior, if borderline sometimes.
I will not buy this even though I really was looking forward to the ship.

Oh, the console. The console I would be fine with, since it has huge disadvantages, too.

But sorry, no sale for me.:scream:

Existing Nova is Tier 1. This ship is Tier 2.

No, Old Nova is also T2. T1 science is Oberth.
So you got effectively two T2 Nova science vessels.
One has a Lt and an ensign science station and one engineering consoel slot.
The other has 2 Lt science stations and two engineering console slots without losing anything.
One of thoses costs extra money...

No, they are not. When was teh last time you visited ships requisitions?

If Nova were T1, then Olympic would be T2, Intrepid would be T3 and Luna would be T4....
    I'm missing a T5 here...

Sorry, but you are wrong. ;)

I thought the new Nova was T3

    says so right here

    http://www.stowiki.org/Upcoming_content

So the being more powerful wouldn't really be the problem if that was the case.

Nope. It says T2 and it is... technically. Just a T2 with better abilities you have to pay for to get.
    :(
T3 would have made me happy and I would have clicked on buy the second it's live.

You know the fleet action que system kind of sucks for ground fleet actions since you can't come and go as you please any more.

Well, the deal is completed. Perfect World has commpleted the acquisition of Cryptic Studios; so Atari is out of the picture as far as STO goes:

    Story 1: http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/09/perfect-world-completes-cryptic-studios-acquisition/

    Story 2: http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/...hampions_Online_Developer_Cryptic_Studios.php

Many Cryptic Devs had stated they wanted to hire more staff, but couldn't until Cryptic's 'For Sale' status was resolved - and if you xcheck the Cryptic main website, they are looking to hire more staff now; so, I think this should end up being a good thing in the long run.

Thanks to the fine folks at SubSpace Radio, you can now join chat channel "stoirc" for two-way communication with #STO, the formerly-official IRC channel.

Anyone know if they're going to turn the Foundry back on at some point? It's been out a while now. Figured it might just be to get the bugs worked out of the season 4 release, but it's been a while now.

And if they're not going to turn out new episodes or endgame content more quickly, the Foundry missions are key to getting veteran players to keep logging in...

Fix for the Foundry bug is on Tribble, go test it out. If it works out, they'll put it on Holodeck soon.
