Two words: The Sun. That's reason enough to doubt this rumor. But if it is true, that's just crazy. Christian Bale is not so identifiable to Batman that you offer UNHEARD OF money to get his lips and over-the-top raspy voice back.

    I wouldn't offer him 60 dollars.

    Dead and buried thank god.

Adam West playing the Dark Knight Returns?

There has been increases rumours from other places than The Sun that has said $50 million.

It's time to start over, They need a Batman for the Superman movie, and then Justice League, and then it's most likely sequels.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt should be Batman, he fights perfectly, but the rumours say they want someone a little older.

i wouldn't believe it either but for the mega deals Marvel has made with Robert Downey over the last few years. Bale's Batman is the equivalent of Downey's Iron Man- instantly recognizable and a guaranteed hit. The gold standard right now is The Avengers and you really had to have Downey anchoring that to make it marketable. I think Warner's sees the same kind of thing with Bale and are willing to pay for it.

My sister's dentist's housekeeper said it was $70 million. She should know because her brother is Bale's trainer's gardener.

I'm not sure anyone in their right mind would turn down $50 million

For the record, this isn't a rumor. There's no one saying that this offer has been made. It's simply speculation as to what they could offer him if they want him back based basically on what RDJr is making for Iron Man.

If they want older, can I suggest George Clooney (without the nipple suit)?

I think if you gave him big enough batnipples, that hoods and punks would shut their eyes when they're shooting at him.
