Speaking as an Asgard, I resent the implication that just because some human comic book artist drew our Supreme Commander as some sort of winged hat wearing, belching oaf who speaks in a different font to everyone else that our society is a pagan one.:borg:

I'm deeply sorry for offending your beliefs. Let me make it up to you with a prayer:

Mighty Thor, will you forgive me for sullying your good name?

Jesus was real. His magic tricks, however, may have been exaggerated.

May have been real - but because he (and his hippie friends) were so anti establishment they got a lot better press than our whole pantheon who were the establishment (in our parts).

    Damn lefty journalists

When the thread title said "Politics/Controversial Topics" - I didn't think it actually meant discuss them in this thread! ;)

ok so Open ended game threads are banned! but ,,, are they still banned since there is the limit of two games here what are the games right now or are all games a lost cause for the misc crowds...?

new game suggestion would be to pick up where some of the trek forums leave off with that open ended story line to say create an on going misc. mix of story line posts each post asking a question of the next poster and answering the last poster in as many or as few words need be?

but really is not the omg this thread is full of bombs getting a little bit open-ended gammy in a way?

The "Thread Bomb" Thread isn't a Game Thread, it's more of a gallery.

A Game Thread that's appropriate for Misc would have to be the type of game that has a winner, not something that goes on forever without a resolution.

The "Mafia" game was an example; or the "Hurt/Heal" games.

For those who participate in our Debate Threads, this is a good resource on how to conduct a real Debate, as opposed to the political propagandizing and personal sniping that takes up the majority of those Threads:

Can we edit rules post #1 so I don't only read three posts down and start screaming at T'Bonz for this:
Now, I do believe this post from Bonz should be addressed, and should set alarms screaming in everyones head, but I'm willing, grudgingly, to let it go by. (for now)

But it's a rules post. Surely we can't expect people to read the whole thread to pick up on a rule that was modified 34 posts in?

I like you, and it's cute how you roll in every once in a while like a bad case of the flu to shake up the system, but this situation was resolved and moved on from months ago. As you already CLEARLY know from having participated in and creating several political or hot button topics, the moratorium has been lifted, so please drop the Rebel Alliance bit.

No one else has seemed to have a problem with this topic in the past few months, and I don't think it's unreasonable to read all of four whole posts down from the top.

Re: Politics/Controversial Topics, Game Threads, Misc FAQ - READ THIS!

Actually, I started a TNZ thread a couple days ago that was outside the TNZ rules, which I had never read.

So this morning I decided, hey! I should read the MISC rules, too! I read post 1, then post 2, T'Bonz post. I was so taken back by T'Bonz's post I almost quoted it right there and starting into her, but I thought, as you have clearly pointed out, "Wait, but there ARE these types of threads in MISC" so I read on to see what happened.

Now, seriously, if you go into a thread that's 43 posts deep, and you want to reply to post 2, do you ALWAYS read the remaining 41 posts?

I don't, and I know a lot of people don't. This one just happened to be resolved by the next post, not 33 posts in, but that isn't always the case.

And I have no problems with rules, I'm not out to rouse any rabbles.

Now, when something gets me all queereyed, I may say, "Woah there hoss, let's break this down". I don't think that's causing a fuss, I think that's thoughtful examination.

Bonz is a pretty reasonable person, but she's human too, and makes mistakes and from time to time says stupid shit, just like I do, just like you do. I just call her on it. Sometimes she has something back at me, sometimes no. All I'm saying, is I treat T'Bonz like any other poster, and if she cared at all, I would imagine she would prefer I do treat her the same as I treat everyone else.

None of that, however, was my point.

All I'm saying is, "Let's edit post 1 with accurate rules".

I don't think that's pouring blood over the Dean's office. In fact, I think its a perfectly reasonable suggestion.
