I've got "Faint" by Linkin Park stuck in my head. I've been catching up on the lyrics a little, since I'm going to go see them in Hamburg next week. Squee!
Funny story, around 1988-89, I was at work and had on the Styx II CD. Their early stuff was pretty keyboard heavy. So this guy, who looked exactly like a young Charles Manson, asked if I was listening to Lucifer's Friend. I hadn't heard of them, so it was kind of a "weird" moment, what with this guy being Manson & all, but as usual I was curious, so I went to a used record shop a few weeks later and bought most of their albums on vinyl (minus the 2 non-Lawton ones and Mean Machine). I got a couple of them on CD when they were actually available around 1999, and "ripped" the rest a couple years ago from the LP's. Great stuff, and I also have the Uriah Heep collection, including the three with John Lawton.
Well I know, you couldn't love me 'cause you're promised to, a wealthy man take a look, what are you seeing is that a noose, or a wedding band? Should I go, to see a healer nervous twitchin' in my hands nervous twitchin' in my head God help me rid this feelin' 'cause I'm fallin' all to pieces and I can't get out of bed Beggars and hangers-on try to take you from me someone with a bible in his pocket clouding everything you see Beggars and hangers-on they chip it away bury your soul in the river 'cause the end is here to stay God help me rid this feelin' 'cause I'm fallin' all to pieces and I can't get out of bed I was wrong I don't need you it seems reckless and unfair better days are far behind guess that's another cross I'll have to bare I know that there's a time and a reason to take the ghost and lock it up inside and maybe I am down but I'm not beaten like anything we were born to die Beggars and hangers-on try to take you from me someone with a bible in his pocket clouding everything you see Beggars and hangers-on no no no no no no no no no no no no [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwTz_X_8tas[/yt]
