^ And we care about this...why, exactly? To express disdain or even hatred for a kind of music is not relevant to that music's fan base. Is everyone who hates rap a racist? Are all those who say "Depeche Mode sucks" homophobes? Do people who hate country music hate Southerners? No, of course not. Same story here.
Really? I think that this article will enlighten you, as well as this quote from it: Disco Inferno Revisited: Disco Demolition Night, 30 Years On
^ Pack your bags, we're going on a guilt trip! Looks like we all better keep our mouths shut regarding music we hate, then.
^ You didn't get the memo? We have to like everything, because if you say that you don't like a certain kind of music, then you hate everyone who likes it, and ZOMG TEH RACIST!!!
Guys, come on, you need to get along. Think of what you have in common, Bieber wants you all to be his fan.
Apparently I was a racist and a homophobe when I was 9, because I wanted to smash into a wall due to the fact that the damn "We Are Family" would not shut the fuck up. And I had no idea who even sang the song, I just hated it so much I wanted to puree the radio.
Oh, I thought this was another avatar memorial thing. The day I log on and everyone has Shatner in their avatar I'll probably start sobbing.
Yeah, he passed on years ago. This is more of a tribute to the good folks of Boston (my signature explains the rest). I considered Mr. Rogers to be a genuine force for good, and I have always felt that this world could be so much better if it had more people like Fred Rogers in it. Or Leonard. Then we're both going to have a hell of a cry that day.
Who is Bob Ross? Oh, I just saw Adam Baldwin at a convention and someone asked him some lameass question about the other unrelated Baldwins and he replied with, "Wikipedia, man.."
Bob Ross, too. Bob Ross was a painter, back in the 70s and 80s, who you could find on public access television hosting a show called "The Joy of Painting." He was a very quiet, soft spoken, peaceful man, who used to speak of "happy little trees" as he painted. He was very talented, and used a method by which he could paint entire nature scenes in minutes. You can see some of his work here: [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGQ1Q667CpI[/yt]
Back to Beiber: This just in- Justin Beiber is an idiot. Why do 'celebrities' think anyone cares about their opinions. Just sing to 13 year old girls and leave everyone else alone.
Yeah, that's why people hated disco: because 'der coloreds' and 'der gayz' liked it, and not because it was preprogrammed, overplayed, pop crap that teenaged girls bought.
The Bee Gees were indeed badass. As for their involvement in the disco scene, it was accidental at best.
