The article is interesting enough but not entirely accurate. The film and its production art was discussed in some depth in this old thread "Planet of the Titans Revisited" <link>.
Well done. For a 9 minute clip, it engrossed me FAR more than I would have expected. Very, VERY well done.
It's Longfellow. Though I got a word wrong in it. My fault and I didn't notice until just now. :-/ http://www.bartleby.com/102/55.html *sigh*
Not to mention my favorite Trek starship ever, the movie Enterprise with the cool new nacelles. Life am good.
It's not the movie Enterprise. It's the TOS Enterprise with Jefferies-designed Phase II nacelles and some visible airlocks and other details.
Having rewatched it a bit, I probably could have done without the TWOK music and the nearly-shot-for-shot recreation of the ship exit from the end of TMP. Your mileage may vary of course. I did like how they threw in a literal mention of "Phase Two," and in a perfectly acceptable, diagetic and non fanwanky way.
Both the TOS ship and Jefferies's Phase II version? Yep. As far as the ST:TMP Enterprise is concerned, I don't see a single element from it incorporated into this version. I may be missing something. I noticed that the exterior bridge dome still has the one turbolift shaft, which is consistent with the interior set.
The only remote TMP connection I could identify is that Tobias kept the artistic element of a of a grill pattern on the impulse engine, rather than just a flat illuminated plane like during TOS. But that's pretty superficial.
Just got around to seeing this. I really liked it. The fruit salad on the Admiral's uniform worked really well is a comment I haven't seen in the thread yet. Arex was great. The whole look was awesome. A very promising intro to, um, phase two of Phase II! P.S. I liked the implied backstory of what Phase II means: the next phase after Phase I in the new engine test. Who gets credit for that idea (apologies if I missed it in the thread)?
I was surprised by how well that worked actually. Any sign of a download? I want to watch this on my TV.
