http://www.amazon.com/Doctor-Who-The-Moonbase/dp/B00C6ACWLC/ Seems a bit pricey to be anything other then an animated recon to me. If true it bodes well for Crusade and Menace.
There's been some scuttlebutt going around that they're doing Underwater Menace and Moonbase, probably as a box set in region 2, but not Crusade (at least for now).
Yes yes, a million times yes! I love all the 60s cybermen flicks (not a big fan of the invasion mind you, too long).
I certainly hope so! I'm reminded of the fan video someone posted on YouTube a few years ago that spliced The Moonbase with 2001: A Space Odyssey leading up to Matt Smith's arrival. The fan(s) made a very good animated realization of the classic Cybermen and Cybermats.
Only that they were both made in 1968. The idea was "What if Stanley Kubrick directed The Moonbase instead of 2001: A Space Odyssey?"
Things are looking very, very good for this to actually be an official release - the BBFC has cleared a trailer for The Moonbase! http://www.bbfc.co.uk/website/Classified.nsf/0/9764661081EBECEA80257B4E0053EB01?OpenDocument
A side point of this being that it's known that Kubrick watched some of Dalek Masterplan, and his people rang up to ask how Douglas Camfield had done some of the effects shots.
Apparently it was the weightless/blown-out-of-an-airlock effects in the filmed scenes for Katarina's death. Which we can't see, unfortunately. But they obviously impressed Kubrick...
I seem to remember a handbook that said that one of the K-9 dogs came from the moonbase or something--but that was a good deal before Tom...
