As I posted last month, I'm rewatching STAR TREK ENTERPRISE, trying to get ready for STAR TREK INTO THE DARKNESS. I just finished rewatching Season 1, and again I thought it was still very good. I have now moved onto Season 2, so I thought that I would ask the question: What is the best episode in Season 2? My goal is watch as much TREK between now and May 17, 2013, when "Into the Darkness" arrives in movies.
Best episodes I would say were.. Carbon Creek for a lovely, poignant, amusing episode. Cogenitor for an excellent sci fi episode. And I applaud your goal.
Ditto Carbon Creek. Also like Minefield, Dead Stop, Singularity and The Catwalk. And yes, I don't even mind ANIS
Thanks, very much ~~ I'm not sure how far I will get but since I have all of Star Trek Enterprise on DVD, TOS, TNG, DS9, and Voyager, plus the cartoon series, and all the movies all on DVD. I have lots of TREK to watch before the movie premier on May 17, 2013. I plan to watch the New Movie at the IMAX Theater in Buford, Georgia.
One episode I've always taken to but rarely hear much about is "The Seventh". It's not the most ambitious or complicated episode ever, but it's a nice, pleasant and mostly character focused episode that did more to sell me on T'Pol than all of season 1 combined. Plus the Archer/T'Pol interactions were nice and desperately needed to distract from the awfulness of "A Night in Sickbay", just two episodes prior. I'd say it's probably my favorite of season 2. I thought so at the time and after having recently gone through the whole series on DVD, for the first time since the series originally aired, I hold to that opinion. Outside of A Night in Sickbay and Precious Cargo, the season on the whole is better than I remembered.
I loved the The Seventh but for some reason it's not well liked. I thought it was visually interesting, great scenes.. and a step outside of the sometimes claustrophobic quality of the first two seasons (you know, endlessly on the ship..)
I also like that it put T'Pol in a more dignified outfit. But yeah, I agree with you totally. I'd also single out First Flight, Dead Stop, Cease Fire and Singularity for being fun episodes, if not all that deep. But then, not everything has to be.
I like Dawn, Precious Cargo (pretty much any episode with Trip baring skin or skivvies is good in my book), First Flight, Marauders, The Catwalk and I am also drawn to The Xindi. They are the ones that spring to mind first.
If you like horny, sweaty Vulcans, "Bounty" is worth it for watching how deep Jolene Blalock is willing to reach for the sake of her craft.
Dear God, do you hate yourself that much?!?! Self-flagellation would be far less painful than suffering through a Jolene Blalock performance. They should have named her character T'Pu (pronounced "T"-poo ).
Why do you try to keep crapping on something someone else enjoys? If you dislike the series that much, why waste so much time in this particular forum?
Because I am still trying to work through the pain and emotional scarring left in the wake of the crap-fest known as "Enterprise" and the Jolene Blalock induced tinnitus that has her raspy, cokehead-like voice still lingering in my ears. Every episode of this stinker seemed to restate the Horta-ish message, "No thrill I."
This "Enterprise" forum and the non-stop chuckles it provides is all I need. Laughter, afterall, IS the best medicine.
Funny, I feel this way about DS9 but I know everyone else in the world loves it; that's cool. I enjoy "Enterprise" and if I'm honest; it is my second favorite Trek after TOS (although I do enjoy TNG & Voyager).
Though the really, REALLY funny thing is that those who proclaim to like "Enterprise" disqualify their opinions from serious consideration by virtue of their self-evident lack of discernment. It's sort of like having a person who likes the smell of poo help you pick out your perfume/cologne. I kid. I kid. Well, kinda.
