    We all still do this:

And not just with motion controlled games either...

    ... yes. :borg:

I've even caught myself leaning to one side to try and peek around a corner in games like Mass Effect.

I don't generally, when I'm a realllllly tricky segment I find myself leaning into it sometimes. However, most of my family does and my favorite is when they'll "hop" the controller when jumping which cracks me up.

Heck when I'm riding with someone and they slam their brakes I find myself slamming the imaginary passenger side brakes to help them stop more quickly before we crash! :p

I do that when I'm in my brother's car. It's an involuntary reaction, fueled by terror and pure instinct toward self-preservation. I swear, he drives like dinosaurs are chasing him or something.

Yep I tilt my head or body at times to reflect in game movement, it seems more of a natural reaction I don't even think about it. Funny thing is I swear it helps me play better.

Every time. Then I catch myself doing it, feel like an idiot, stop for a while, and eventually start doing it again. It's a vicious cycle.

...doesn't go away with age either. The Immersion just works in that moment.

I also find if I lean forward while zooming in with my weapon, or mash the RT furiously while firing I'm more likely to hit my targets in Borderlands and Call of Duty :p

I also tend to play every RPG like it has Action Commands. Hit the Confirm button when your character's weapon connects with the enemy to inflict additional damage.

    This.

Doesn't help that Super Mario RPG (on the SNES) had exactly that kind of mechanic too.

The thing is, EVERYBODY does that, yet no one ever considered to actually use these motions in games. Wii and others all come up with their own, less intuitive, control gestures.
