PBEM because I find it more appealing personally.

    I used to play PBeM.

I find it convenient to have other players' messages delivered to my mail box and answer when I have free time (some of the above are not practical, if players live on different continents).

None of the above. I am a table top gamer.

With absolute certainty I can say PBF RPG, and I'm fresh into the realm of Nova-based RPGs, just made one of my own and applied for another one, let's see whether I get accepted :)

Good ol' tabletop games. Dungeons&Dragons, GURPS, FASA, LUG, etc.

Tabletop, with what very little experience I have with it, is definitely fun. I also got involved in a fantasy-themed PHP-based real-time roleplaying game called Hollow several years ago and that was quite amusing for a while. You'd click 'refresh' and see all the people coming and going in text-based format; basically a lot like the DOS-looking ones, but with a shinier interface.

"What kind of RPGs do you prefer?"

Technically, JRPGs from around 1992 through 2006 gets my vote, but I know that's not what you mean.

tabletop, with pencils and dice. KHAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNN!!!!!!!
i still think the FASA system was best, though SFB was a much better starship combat system.
