I have a slightly weird 'relationship' with the Stargate franchise in that I love the original movie, but have never really sat down and watched any of the series it spawned from beginning to end, although I'm trying to change that right now with a watch-through of Atlantis (which I decided to start with because I'd never before seen even one episode of it). I do think that the franchise will continue to endure even if we never get a new installment in any form or fashion, though, because it's a very easy property to just 'dive into' despite being very heavily serialized.
I just watched the "between two fires" and "2001" episodes in season 5 which wrapped up the Tollan and Aschen storyline. The Aschen were an interesting antagonist.
I found it strange that in the first encounter with the Aschen they were never anything other than completely courteous for the 10 years it took for them to decimate the human (and presumably all other gate) populations. In the second appearance, as soon as their plot is uncovered and foiled, they become very human in their viciousness.
I miss Stargate Atlantis. I'm reading the Legacy series (still), has some great moments. I'm missing watching it though.. (vid has huge spoilers) [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0tPrmAsFsk[/yt] I loved that episode so much I watched it twice in a row the first time.
I loved Carter. I did roll my eyes when she made the "women as good as men" speech in Children of the Gods as I thought she'd be another hard-nosed female character, but thankfully they surprised me. I've gotta get the series, haven't seen the early seasons for ages.
Someone asked me for this in a pm, unfortunately this is the biggest I have of it. I can't remember where it came from but I'll have a look round.
I want to watch new stargate. If I watch old stargate, I'll just keep watching till the end again. I listened to some fanmade audio's called Stargate Temporal Core... Shit. I just got that. The fucker miss-spelled "Corps". Badly written, badly preformed, bad ideas.
Because they have weaknesses and limitations and she seemingly does not. She's a commander, a soldier, an engineer, a scientist, she's beautiful, she's compassionate, she's a field medic when it suits and can assist in complex surgeries too. The writers tried so hard to not make her a damsel that they made her another cliché instead. She basically has every positive quality they could think of.
I don't really see any difference between her and Daniel, other than the actual items on their list of endless accomplishments/attributes
Thanks! What was the referring page on Amazon for that? I'm guessing there are other SG-1 related images there. I did find several others on "claudiablack.free.fr"
