Went to an amazing fundraiser last night, to support awareness for organ donorship and transplants. The chairman of the transplants department gave an amazing speech about being a transplant surgeon. He also gave a moving speech about the family of a thirteen year old boy, who's family donated his organs and that his Kidneys went to a 67 year old grandmother that allowed her to see her granddaughter thirteen birthday. There was a silent auction, we walked away with five prizes. Including this beauty, a Delacroix print.
So I'm kinda new to this and I need to make 50 posts before I'm fully able to use this thing properly..Is there a room just for newbies or have I just got to get my hands dirty and dive into posting in forums? Any advice is welcome
You'll just have to get dirty with the rest of us. But you should also check the 'lounge' at the bottom of the index-page: there you'll find other people of the same relative membership-age as yourself. Oh, and: you forgot to mention your latest purchase(s)!! Plus, there, the welcome thread pinned in Misc. -you should easily be able to get a few posts in there (I think posts in Misc. count towards your total -they didn't always, you know!)
Two pairs of brightly colored casual pants, a pair of gray shorts, a white t-shirt and a copy of Frozen.
Milk. Don't you just hate waking up and realising that you have to get dressed and go buy something before you can have your coffee? You're welcome. Or you could go talk some Trek in the Trek-forums -Did a bit of math... at your current speed you'll have your fifty posts in little less than three weeks if you keep up your current prolificity
Some 'hose-end' ant spray. I'm going to nuke the buggers all around the house foundation this weekend before they can 'rise up' and infiltrate HQ. It's starting to warm up and if they are anything like last year....it'll be war!!
I did not know that ants and cinnamon didn't mix. I am going to try that. Not only environmentally friendly, I'll bet it's a hell of a lot cheaper than the ant-spray. Thanks, trekkiedane!! My purchase was a cappuccino on the way to work.
Guessing you have looked it up by now... it's an old trick that I don't even know why I know, it may or may not work for you -but do try it and let us know how successful you are with it. Haven't purchased anything (yet) today, but as it was the day I was supposed to go to the DIY-discount-store I have my list ready: Rope to hang up my bike with. Pot to plant something in. Soil to put in the pot. Wheels for my sack truck (the kind that doesn't puncture). ETA: I just pre-ordered this from Amazon.
