Very Dutch. I haven't been back to the Netherlands in over ten years, and I must rectify that. My Dutch is pants and I'm barely literate in the language, but I have a deep love for my parents' home country.

I've spent a few days this past week in Manhattan and I made sure to bring my camera. The full (88 photo) set is HERE, but I wanted to share some samples. TheSeeker (well, Savage Dragon, now ), your Bryant Park photo inspired me, so I set out to get some shots of trees in the city - with buildings in the background. They're in the set above, toward the bottom.

 

Here's a building pic that turned out really moody, from a year ago or so. Philly city hall.

 

Wow, those are fabulous, Ancient Mariner! Both individually and as the set.

 

Sorry Ancient Mariner I can't remember, what city is that? GREAT photos and great buildings!!

Thanks Tora Ziyal & teacake! And teacake, that is New York City. The building you see in all three photos in the second row is the newly built One World Trade Center. The very top right is the Empire State Building.

 

^ One WTC isn't actually finished yet, is it?

 

1WTC isn't officially open yet. They're still finishing off the interior, but the exterior, including reaching its full height, is complete. So the building has been ... built, but the finishing remains to be ... well, finished.

 

Completely finished or not, it's pretty gorgeous. At least they made sure the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere is an eye-catching piece of architecture.

 

Here is my view from today and we're possibly getting two feet of snow tomorrow.

I sketched this bird today, and sent it along to my tattoo artist. The tattoo will not be exactly like this, but this is the basic idea:
