^The in-jokes sound awful. I don't mind a few nods to an original but this just sounds stupid.

After the great casting the reading up on this it is sounding very, very bad.
    Hopes...diminished.

I will order Robocop 2 on Amazon and rewatch the dvd when it arrives. Haven't seen it in decades.

I keep hearing that this was the only decent sequel in the franchise. Maybe the second movie will seem better if I stop comparing it to the first?

STILL can't believe the guy that directed ESB did this movie. Damn, Kershner... what happened? :wtf::rommie:

^I thought Robocop was pretty crap, I must say. Proof again of the limits of Frank Miller's ability. But I hope you prove me wrong!

Kershner also directed the so-so 'unofficial' James Bond movie Never Say Never Again. At times, ESB does seem like the fluke on his CV.

I credit ESB as much to George Lucas and Lawrence Kasdan as I do Kershner.

I have to admit, the idea of dropping Robocop and ED-209 into the middle of an al-Qaeda training camp sounds like a pretty cool one (who wouldn't love to see Robo completely waste those guys?).

    But the rest? Ugh.

^But didn't they do something similar in Iron Man? They may not have specified the identity of the bad guys, but it was much the same idea.

Right, that and the redone armor looks as if Stark gave it once over tweaking the design doesn't help either imo.

I'm beginning to expect them to change the title of this movie to Iron Cop.

Upon reading this thread title I presumed that the star and director were the same person...

...and then some deep dark voice in my mind asked "Is it Shatner?"

Does anyone know where I can buy brain bleach?

Sounds more like Deathlok from Marvel than RoboCop.

That guy looks more like a Crysis reject than Robocop. Why change his look? Ugh.

They updated the article in the link. That concept has nothing to do with Robocop.

UPDATE: An MGM rep has contacted CBM to clarify...
"MGM has no knowledge of Mike Jensen & he has never been hired by the studio or the production team to create any designs for the upcoming film, RoboCop. We would like to request that you correct the post."

Nice. MGM probably noticed the deafening bad buzz and were forced to respond. Hopefully this means they realize we want a suit as close to the original as possible.:rommie:
