Been giving Shadow Warrior (2013) a go. It's a bit linear so far, but it's been fun. I've barely used the ranged weaponry though.

I'm also in the mood to reinstall one of the Wolfenstein series. I haven't got around to finishing the 09 one yet, so it'll probably be that one.

The shame of it is it isn't a really terrible game, if it'd been a tenner indie title I'd have said fair enough, it's got it's shortcomings but for a tenner I could see past it, but for a 50 quid game it's just not good enough.

Apparently you can beat that game without firing your gun once.

The game also follows none of the Aliens-universe "canon" (for what that's worth). It's like they creators did no research at all.

Having also bought it before Xmas for much the same price, that sounds like a challenge.

However, that'd be work rather than relaxation, cos i have to cover it in the updated Beautiful Monsters.

    Anyway...

Getting frustrated at totally failing to win the final boss battle in Saints Row IV, I think it's time for Assassins Creed 3...

Are you ready to put in a good 4 hours before the game even starts?

As long as it's not repeating the same two minutes with the same boss lines fifty times, it'll make a nice change.

And I already played to the point where you land at Boston - was most amused to see you can pat dogs when you see them.

Ah, fair enough. I fairly enjoyed AC3, I did ignore a lot of the sailing missions, though it may be worth trying them out if you intend on getting AC4, where it's a major component of the game.

Were you playing Tomb Raider on Xbox? It appears under Games with Gold they're selling Legend, Underworld and Anniversary for £5.09 each and giving away Guardian of Light if you have it.

I don't have Gold, mind you...

Liking AC3 so far - it's nice that you can pat the dogs... Strange there are no viewpoints in Boston, at least so far.

God but the orphans' giggles in AC3 is annoying - a misophonia trigger actually - and the fucking game won't let me kill them or hit them like it let you beat the beggars in previous games...

Also, is there anything coming of the "pet animal" thing? Like, is there a secret achievement for petting 1000 dogs or something?

Perhaps. I've paid that for things that have been more of a waste:lol:. I haven't come across any bugs yet (besides the characters) and the weapons feel underpowered but I've played games I've liked less. Still, I'm not that far into it, so there's plenty of time.

Yeah, I don't think I've managed that so far, though I have to admit, I'm not trying to.

    Oh hell yes.

As for what's next on the agenda, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (it's been a while) or Bioshock 1 (never got around to finishing it).

If you get behind an Alien, it forgets you exist and won't attack...
