Cute. I like it. TNG-era, a re-launch of the TMP-era vessels parked & left deactivated during the Dominion War at Utopia Planetia & the Starship Museum.

Actually, back in the day I had a little backstory worked out for it - it was a 23rd century vessel built incorporating technology found in a 24th century Starfleet ship from an alternate universe blown back through time during the battle of Wolf 357...

...Yeah, I went in for that kind of stuff in the 90s. :guffaw:

I also built a portion of a full-scale bridge set that was supposed to belong to this thing. Never finished the graphics, but if my life hadn't taken a sudden left turn I might have made an early fan film.

I don't have any really good pictures of it close to hand, but here's what I do have - the two mysterious figures are friends who I'm not in touch with and therefore don't have permission to feature on the Internet - it did get a little closer to completion than this.

Hmmmmm.....intriguing. I could go for something like that at "S.T.: New Worlds". Have you written-down any of your concept in Microsoft Works / Word? I'd love to see you submit it, (& with your permission I'd edit/co-author,) to include plausible bits of future-history between Wolf 359 & The Dominion War.

The 24rd century ship is caught by a discharge from the wildly unpredictable Rashanar energy fields (from the "A Time To..." pro-lit series,) similar to the volcanic whirls in the Badlands (caused by exploded Romulan singularity engine cores during battles with the U.S.S. Excelsior, U.S.S. Enterprise-A & their sister ships.)

In a manner very similar to the Soyuz-Class U.S.S. Bozeman in TNG's "Cause & Effect", the "U.S.S. ---------------" becomes ensnared, sucked-in, bashed about like a cheap rubber toy raft on white water rapids & suddenly expelled about 47 years in Starfleet's "TMP-era / Lost Years-era" past.

    That's next door to Wolf 359 isn't it? ;)

Very nice! I imagine this would be how Starfleet would have upgraded the Constitution for the 24th century!

Do not ask me astronomy or Trek continuity trivia. I will cry (apologies to Joss Whedon).

And then I will smash (apologies to Hulk).

In my opinion, this design is nothing more than a fannish kitbash of the Connie, the Connie refit, and the Ambassador.

Certainly nothing meriting the praise being heaped upon it in this thread.

As Thumper once said, if you can't say nothing nice, don't say nothing at all. In completely unrelated news, I apologize for having said nothing in your Photoshopped word balloon thread.

^And at least it's a well done mashup of different Trek ship types. Unlike some other work I've seen. :p

Dude, it cannot touch the Enterprise reimagining in your avatar that you and STC and others cooked up. Now that's inspired. :techman:

So this forum is not a place for criticism? Just empty fawning?

Ah, I see. Since I didn't instantly jump aboard the Praise Train, I'm automatically an asshole, or whatever you intended to call me.

    That's fair.

Yep, that's how it seems to work on this board (I've been the :censored: in a thread or two myself. ) :)

This is indeed a place for criticism, but constructive criticism, please. Just saying "In my opinion, this design is nothing more than a fannish kitbash of the Connie, the Connie refit, and the Ambassador. Certainly nothing meriting the praise being heaped upon it in this thread." is both negative and useless, as you give no suggestions on how it could be improved, or even what specifically you dislike about it.

This is excellent work...did it ever get finished?

(For the record, this IS Necro, but Legion asked us to comment on his stuff outside the costume thread...)
