I'll swear in Italian, but that's about as strange as I get (I'm trying to expand that to French, German, and Spanish, but I haven't yet - except for the German, which is too obvious to use in public anyway).
I prefer RoboCop's "mother crusher" Although I think we have a new winner: [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4t6zNZ-b0A[/yt]
i also picked up my old assistant mangaer's habit of describing rubbish stuff as 'chaff' instead of crap. thankfully i seem to have put it down again. i have said 'Slag' a few times... need to start coming out with 'By the Primal Program!' or 'By the Golden Spires of Iacon!' more...
Nerts in M*A*S*H Bolkop this (f**k this) when my fiancée was talking with other teachers in the playground at her old job.
That has got to be the worst TV edit I have ever heard. Ever. Apparently that plane doesn't fly on weekends?
dag nabit I like the old batman-robin tv show substitutions Holy batshit actual quote by Robin "Holy atomic pile, Batman!" back to the booty call this is when you butt dial right?
It's also very Elliotish from Scrubs For me, the main fake ones are usually frak, frick, goramm it or frell me dead. I may even have used abso-fragging-lutely once or twice
-- Frag. Picked that up as an fuck-alt owing to being around a few military people that used to use it that way "Frag you, frag me, frag off..." -- Frak and Frell (yeah I'm a geek ) -- Slag ( okay a big geek )
Chuck you farlie is one I use I said, "I don't giver a frap" in class the other day and a student asked what "frap" was. I said, "it's short for frapppachino and I don't like coffee."
I like "frak." I also sometimes use "fark" and "flakk." It should not surprise you that these are Cardassian swear words (at least in DS9 #6, Betrayal). I have also been known to (NOT in anyone else's hearing) use a few swear words I invented in my own version of the Cardassian language...though one has the "fortunate" side effect of sounding something like "hack it," which often fits my mood when a machine at work has been acting up. But one I've heard only twice in my life--from my great-grandmother, and also from one of my co-workers, is "Oh, foot." Is that just a Southernism or something?
One that has reached mainstream UK audiences since the mid-90s has been "feck". Interestingly, it has traditionally been a verb of Irish origin, meaning to steal or throw, and also has origins in Scots English meaning something of value (hence the term "feckless"). Of course, a certain 90s sitcom about Irish priests has popularised it more as an interjection and euphemism for a certain other F-word ("The BAAD F-word... worse than 'feck'" ). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLTnacYvvg4
I've found myself using that one a lot aafter ODing on nu BSG as I'd missed the first run. The same thing happened when I watched season three of Dexter, I found myself becoming the most hispanic white man in Glasgow. Frak is also a good way of reducing the amount of fucks - and occasionally theres a motherfudger thrown in as I try not to swear at work. On the TV edits, I quite like the whole Funking deal in Sean od the Dead. And Prink.
