How exactly has Stark's character been played out? Stark is still continuing his evolution as a character. He is reaching new levels of understanding about himself and the world around him as it continues to change and grow. Not to mention the threat of the Mandarin that brings his story full circle again to the beginning. That is essentially what "Iron Man 3" is supposed to be about. It is supposed to explore Tony's place in the post Avenger world.

Hell, he's judging the movie on a teaser trailer released six months before the movie is set to be released! There's very little to judge the movie on at this point.

    It's a sign of growth.

Doing the same things but bigger(Iron Man 2) ultimately blew up in Marvel's faces

    If part 3 is

    -Big intro by Iron Man/Stark
-Stark goes back to his garage and tinker's around
-Stark emerges from his garage with a new toy and beats bad guy.

Then Marvel would just be spinning its wheels and going nowhere in character development.

To make these movies work you need expand it's universe.

There are ramifications of the "Avengers" NY battle. We're going to see them

No offence, but that sounds really pretentious.

"I used to like these entertaining movies, but then I saw Cloud Atlas, and BAM...I realized all movies must be about big, world changing ideas, and everything else just isn't worth it."

I've seen Cloud Atlas twice and read the book three times. I love, I think it's brilliant. I think it's one of the best films of the year.

But I also think The Avengers is one of the best films of the year.

How can they be comparable? Well, they're not, really.

But they both succeed brilliantly in what they set out to achieve. But they want to achieve different things. Cloud Atlas wants to make you think, expose you to ideas, to consider your place in time. The Avengers just wants to be a roller coaster. And there's nothing wrong with that.

Might as well tear down all roller coasters, damn frivolous things. I'm going to sit on a rock and contemplate the universe.

I love how your are judging a film that's not even released yet. The sure sign of an educated mind who has no time for cultural diarrhea.
Go watch the damned thing, THEN judge. If you hate it then, fine. But don't get all high and mighty and preachy because you saw something that's being labled as meaningfull by a few and has thus changed your life.

I can't stand it when people proclaim how movies MUST make people think, and realize, and ponder the meaning of life. Hell, movies were made to enterain. Some of the first images ever to be put on film were frickin porn. How's that for the cultural media of film?
Bleh. Some movies are thought provocotive, others are just dumb entertianment. Both have their values, by their own standards.

And if it took you weeks to realize that Avengers isn't exactly Oscar-material, you need to start wondering just how strong a judge you are when it comes to condeming movies.

^Exactly. It drives me crazy when people rip on something because it wasn't didn't have some big deep message. Not everything has to be like that, sometimes movies and TV shows are just meant to be fun entertainment.

The new armor is the Mark 42 and there will be a scene with iron man drones of some type.

Hot Toys has outdone themselves this time:

Everything is sold separately. So basically you need to buy 13 separate items (6 armors, 6 display cases, Stark with workshop) to complete the scene.

    Superhero Hype

No pricing info yet. But going by what previous figures cost, and assuming the cases might cost a bit less and Stark with his workshop a bit more, I'm guessing around $2000 total for the whole set. That's a very rough guess, but I can't imagine it being much less.

.... The armors don't come with the display cases? And Stark comes with all of the workshop bits including the platform, desk, and the "Dum-Dum" robot?

The wording used in the article seemed to suggest that, yes.

    Yes.

The panels go for $130 each, or you can get seven for $800 from sideshow toys.

I was thinking the reverse was more surprising: what's the point of a display case without anything to display?

    I made one :D

The figures are from a Japanese company called "Revoltech" who's known for their joint system

A chinese paper modeler decided to share his instructions for his hall of armor.
