I mainly word-process, email and do 'productivity things' - I'll stick have a desktop in my office at work and office at home, I'd be better off with the 13 inch air? unless there is something killer in the Pro that I've missed for my usage?

Pro has retina display (useful if you're moving about), a lot more ports for attachments, much bigger HDD space and better CPU for running several tasks simultaneously in about the same size, weight and battery life.

I have an Air and there's not enough USB slots. If I had to choose again I would pick a Pro.

Have you ever tried an SSD system? I suggest whatever SSD system you can afford.

I'm not paying, so I can pretty much have what I like.

I have a MacBook Air, love it so far, don't do anything very heavy duty, just the usual MS Office junk plus I'm learning Blender, a 3D graphics program which also runs okay.

I have the cheapest 13in pro from June and not the retina display. There are never enough USB ports. But it was 4lbs and I love it.

I have to wonder what there are not enough USB ports for?

I tend to plug in a flash drive now and again but otherwise I never find myself needing lots of USB ports.
