I can't wait to see more of this project as well. And any writes/photos on your methods and progress.
No, thank you for supporting the good people at Coca-Cola. Coke and Wheaties: the Breakfast of Champions (and Musicians, if you look at it the right way. ) You know, now that I think of it, that can looks suspiciously well sized to be a template for something on the model...
Looks good so far. You know.. seing it without the nose, there's a definite family resemblance with the Nova-class (considering its in-universe fiction as imagined by Rick Sternbach, I'm not surprised).
It's not just in-fiction ... The Nova-class design is the original Defiant design in the real world, before it was abandoned for the smaller, more compact Defiant as we know it today. The old design was resurrected for the Nova-class in Voyager.
Here's an update on this. I finished the pattern and have cast the body in fiberglass, the rest in resin. Here's some pics of the master. With the Ertl kit.
Beautiful! I recently discovered the RPF and I've been looking at some of your older projects on there. You're a pro if ever there was one! --Alex
[Erases joke about the girl coming with the model :P] Very nice! Where does this go when it's finished, though? Mark
I'm gonna go there, though. Wish me luck! Hey REL! Is your wife/girlfriend angry with you because you've got all these beautiful, handmade models, but no furniture or even a refrigerator in what looks to be your kitchen? In that one picture she kind of looks like she's saying to you, "You better not put this where the 'fridge is supposed to go!"
I always loving seeing your stuff REL. Are you planning to do internal lighting for the bussards, impulse engines, and warp grills?
