I think the Borg should make a cameo appearance.

    Here's my idea:

During a scene at Starfleet Academy, as young Kirk and Spock are walking down a hall, a Borg drone just happens to walk by them for absolutely no reason whatsoever (to which Kirk and Spock make no reaction at all). No explanation or reason is ever given for this. This would make the audience say to themselves, "What the fuck?! What is a Borg doing in this movie?! OMG LOLs, that's really weird!" while scratching their heads. Then a minute later after it sinks in, the audience would smile to themselves because it would be a pretty light-hearted moment that, well, just makes you feel happy inside, as if the movie is telling you We're gonna have fun with this movie.

I think this would be a nice nod Trekkers who still love the Borg a lot.

Only if that Borg is followed by Admiral Janeway, carrying a fishing net.

During the opening credits, Jonathan Archer should appear, look at a drone walk past, look at it and point with his mouth open.

Also, Kirk should appear in the credits just as he solves the Kobyashu Maru problem, dressed as a Horta, with a cigar popped in his mouth.

Perhaps we could have a Klingon sitting in the front seat of a convertible shuttle, turning round and slowly smiling.

The very last thing this franchise needs is more Borg.

Borg is probably Star Treks most known and popular enemy I don't get why they shouldn't have them

Yeah but it would piss off all the Trekkers who think the Borg have been done to death.

Sounds pointless to me. But it does illustrate a special quality of Trek fans--they love to have the same old crap served to them, over and over again.

So you want to add Borg to a movie that already has a villain going back in time to change the course of history...do we really need to add an over used villain with an overused plot device to a movie that is supposed to be a fresh start to the franchise? wasn't the combination of time travel and Borg in "First Contact" enough?

Obviously it wasn't enough for folks still hung up in the 24 1/2 century like Duck Dodgers ;)

Would the generic movie going public know or care what a Borg is? Assuming that they do not, the only people that would appreciate the humour of this moment are the fans.

Have you seen how humourless some of them are lately? :vulcan:
