How did they handle "The Remmick Scene"? I would think the only thing that definitly needed fixing was the silly Robot Chicken stop motion. Hopefully they didn't wuss out and reduce the graphicness.
It's the same. Just clearer. The stop motion is still there I'm afraid, but I don't think it looks that bad personally. I don't think they sped it up to remove the stutter motion, but it still looks just the same. Likewise with all the effects. 98% are identical, with 1% fixes and 1% fuck ups.
From Wiki: " Dan Curry invited his six-year old son to watch the episode in order to test how children would react to it, who reportedly liked it so much that he suggested the creation of a Remmick action figure where the head would blow up by pressing a button" That is so hilarious on many levels.
^ But would the action figure only be able to blow up once? Would you be able to buy a replacement head, or be forced to get a whole new figure each time?
To me, the most hilarious thing is that THIS happened: Execs: "I don't know. This is very graphic. How will children react?" Producers: "Well...Dan has a six year old, we could show it to him" Dan Curry: "Son what do you think, too violent?" Kid: "No Way!! That was awesome! You should do an action figure with an exploding head!" Exec: "Good enough for us."
Same goes for Tomb of the Cybermen. The BB C idiots and the infamous Mary Whitehouse were on the director's ass because of a Cybermen at the end of the story bleeding and writhing around with nasty foam spewing out its damaged chest unit, saying it was much too graphic and that the children would not like ityet the director's kids loved it. They are just using children as an excuse for their own insecurities.
Well DW did attract the ire of Mary Whitehouse quite a few times. Makes you wonder how many people actually tuned into the a show that had here ire this week to see what all the fuss was about.
