Anyone else seen the Serenity comic on Dark Horse's My Space page? I just noticed it and thought I'd post a link for anyone interested.

I read it on that site about a week or so ago. Supposed to also be another on in a comic book coming.

It's good and certainly a mile better than the first two issues of the recent second trilogy comic.

The Firefly/Serenity comics just prove to me that the show worked so well because of the actors. They brought something amazing with them.

I liked all the ones I've read, but you're right, they don't grab you like the series did.

As a fan of the show and the movie, I found that to be lazy writing and below the quality of the filmed material.

I didn't enjoy the comic that much. Interesting idea, but the execution was too rushed. Worse, the dialogue didn't sound like Firefly/Serenity dialogue. It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing.

Meh. Like Those Left Behind, the magic is just sucked out without the cast. I've said it before, but the most memorable thing about Firefly is the way the cast just immediatly had chemistry with one another. The writing was okay, but it needs the support of the actors. And it can't have that in a comic format like this.

I thought the first comic trilogy captured them very well.

My only disappointement is that we didn't get any more.

Any more? Comics? The second trilogy collection is out soon. It's called Better Days.

Let me clarify: as good as the first. As I said ealier in the thread, the last trilogy wasn't good.

Right, sorry, I misunderstood you. I haven't yet had chance to read Better Days, so I can't comment.

There's also the Book miniseries, which should be out late this year. Explaining his backstory and who he really is etc
