But I've become attached so some of them. Like the white doff named Sisko, or one who has the same first name as one of my ex-girlfriends.

    Yea, I know I'm weird.

Are you nice to the ex girlfriend or do you constantly send her on high danger missions? :rommie:

    ME = proud! :biggrin:

Just completed my tier XII MACO space set, one hell of a grind! whew! I already had two pieces from before the reputation change over and recently realized I didn't have the engines thus making it a full set with all the bonuses, looking forward to testing it out.

What sets do you all use? Borg, OMEGA, Aegis, Breen, Dominion? Why does your set rock for you?

I usually use the Omega set for my escorts, Borg set for my cruisers. For my science vessels, I either go with the MACO set if its a defensive ship or Omega for more attack oriented ships.

Is the Omega set better for escorts than the MACO set? I was always under the impression that the MACO set was the better of the two.

Depends on your build. MACO is a tanking Set. Omega benefits dpa.

I have the Borg set from before the change on some of my ships. Otherwise usually the Jem'Hedar set, because it's free. All dose marks, all dat dil, just for ONE piece of a rep set. And that's at Mk X!

I you are looking for good gear but don't necessarily need the set bonuses (which are overrated anyway with a few exceptions) you can try your hand at fleet gear which has some really nice traits and is considered the most powerfull stuff in the game.
The gear usually has an extra trait over the regular ones.
We have currently access to Mk XI Ultra rare on the starbase.

I've never even looked....what kind of costs are there for the fleet ship gear?

A lot. I believe the dil costs are comparable to the dil store costs. I can't find the actual costs, though, as the wiki is pretty poorly designed.

    Yes and no.

Direct dilithium per item cost is less than half of the dilithium store.

You have to pay Fleet credits in addition to dilithium though for the fleet gear and of course need a fleet gear provision which is provided by the fleet.
Getting provisions has costs of its own which is making the fleet gear probably more expensive if you break it down, but I view the provisions as a side effect of leveling the base.
If we ever max it out and concentrate on getting provisions that might change of course ;)

Wow, that's a lot of DOFFs. You may have an actual crew on your ship. :-) As someone that jumped into the DOFF system hot and heavy when it first hit Tribble, I initially assumed that more was better. Through experience I found that 125 is a comfortable level. It's enough slots to allow you to staff all space and ground positions and 20 assignments if you have the right DOFFs.

I find that 200 is a more comfortable number. This way, I have between 4 to 6 doff of each profession with different traits so I can easily do all high value assignments in one shot. Its why I can I typically get 2000+ dil every day from a single character just from doff assignments.
