I object to the lamentable lack of Barry Nelson on this poll.

And his inimitable portrayal of the American agent Jimmy 'Card Sharp' Bond ?

As a kid watching Bond on the ABC Sunday night movie the Roger Moore movies moved faster than Connelly for my young mind. When Tim Dalton came around he was like a correction to the excesses of the Moore era. Meanwhile Craig's is too dark.

In the end Dalton then Lazenby. But For Your Eyes Only remains my favorite film

Dalton was quite edgy at times, I liked that.

Goldeneye was not only a great Bond movie, Brosnan was a great Bond in that one. Pity his others weren't as good. When it comes to Craig, I've only seen Casino Royale, but a damned good Bond he was. I'll need to QoS and Skyfall soon.

Connery, yes, he defined it. And some of his movies were classics. But not sure if they really were that good. Moore was just way over the top.

Brosnan, though I might think differently if I'd actually seen one of his movies in the last ten years.

Favorite 'classic' (always impeccably dressed, never a hair out of place, suit tailored at all times, and suave) Bond: Brosnan

Favorite 'realistic' (if such a thing is possible) Bond: Craig

Favorite Bond girls: Carey Lowell, Michelle Yeoh

Favorite M: Definitely, Judi Dench. No question.

I'd have voted for all the others besides Niven, if it weren't for that dang radio button! :p

Sir Sean is still (and forever will be) the epitome of all that is cinematic Bondness. However, I think Brosnan is the best actor--or rather gave the best performances--of the bunch. It's too bad most of his films sucked. But then, I'd argue the only redeeming value in either TWINE or DAD is his performances.

Daniel Craig. I think he's the best actor of the bunch and I find his Bond to be the most interesting as a character.

Given that they're basically playing different characters, this is a silly question with no right answer.

That said, the correct answer is Craig. :p

I'm still a little ashamed that I was so dismissive when he got the job because he's utterly brilliant.

The only thing I have against him is that he doesn't ever seem like he enjoys the role, by contrast one of the things I love about Brosnan is the unabashed glee in his eyes as if he can't quite believe he's 007!

I know I put Connery last, but really I've never met a (canon) Bond I didn't like. I just find it hard to empathise with Connery's version.

I don't want Daniel Craig to go anywhere just yet, but you do have to wonder just what sort of 007 will follow him?

That would be very interesting. I was very much a fan of the idea of Colin Salmon getting the role before Daniel Craig got the job.
