Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread" Thank Poser content creator Oshikai for those sweet items! He released a purchase item he titled the "Retro Dress", fitted for DAZ's Aiko 3 and marketed as a generic 1960s "mod" fashion. However, with a free "after market" addition he also provides, the generic "go-go" outfit becomes one of the most screen accurate 3D recreations of the (in)famous William Ware Theiss "uniform" supplying the proper division colors, chevrons and every rank braid from ensign to captain. That "add-on" set also has the "spat" type leggings modeled to fitt the digitigrade paw morphs Anchronicity offers in his "Kasa for Aiko" pack. Sincerely, Bill
Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread" Nice, I like that, reminds me very much of Court Jones' sketches of Kzinti he did for Jimmy Diggs' Kzinti movie pitch.
Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread" I have reworked that setup, obtaining morphs and textures that present a much better feline typw face. (This version looks more like Scooby Doo ran into a wall!) But since I'm at work, the company firewall won't let me access my PhotoBucket account where I have the updated composition. I'll have to retuen home before I can hot-link it. Sincerely, Bill
Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread" A Bill Theiss inspired "evening gown" for the sophisticated Caitian about town. One might reason a furred species would not care for restrictive garments that might mat the dense hair. Sincerely, Bill
Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread" Not the most dynamic pose, but I wanted to showcase the ensemble and not obscure it. I particularly like the "wrap" because it looks like something Bill Theiss might have designed and fitted. Like several of his costumes, you wonder if (read: hope) it might dislodge itself. I didn't model the items, but I did play with "material nodes" to give them that distinctive TOS look. I call that glittery effect "Tholian shell". Sincerely, Bill
Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread" And we go from evening gowns to "boiler suits". Here's "ensign" M'Ress when she still served upon the USS Hood. Seems she's discovered a not so favorable reading upon her "trident" scanner. Sincerely, Bill
Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread" Thought it was about time I presented something beyond a "pin-up". Not all the activities can be presented as glamour shots. Besides, it gave me a chance to try some coveralls that somewhate resemble those from the original series, at least "close enough for government work". I had a lil' fun with the lighting, placing one up the Jefferies tube, causing it to cast an ovoid "spot" upon the deck and another right in front of the scanner to better illuminate her face. Without it, M'Ress' face was pretty much in shadow. Sincerely, Bill
Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread" Nice render, Bill. Looks like a young LT. hard at work doing the grunt work. One thing, though. Wouldn't she be really uncomfortable with cloths over the fur? Wouldn't she over-heat? I know our Golden Retriever over-heats every time my wife tries to put some holiday "outfit" on her during whatever celebration is afoot..... Again, nice work Bill! Q2UnME
Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread" I beg to differ. All activities certainly can be presented as glamour shots. As any good pin-up calender can attest too. --Alex
Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread" If I didn't know any better, I'd suspect that was a vote for a bit of "kitty pr0n"! ;-) Sincerely, Bill
Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread" Weird... Forum choke upon some earlier posts, yet the raunchy retort uploads without a hitch. What I tried to say earlier about outfits and furred lifeforms was this... Two reasons to wear a jumpsuit that "trumps" discomfort (both put forth by Mark Stanley, creator of the web-comic "FreeFall"). 1. Prevents (well, reduces) shedding fur from clogging the air filtration system. 2. Reduces chances of fur getting snagged in the machinery. Otherwise, I'm all for nearly nekkid cat-girls. ;-) Sincerely, Bill
Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread" We seem to have a trend going on deviantArt at the moment, making toony Trek gals, and I just had to make my own cartoon carnivore : I might have to do some more with her ... who can resist a furry little lieutenant?
Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread" Ptrope? Did you fit Oshikai's retro-dress to Peaches using one of the various clothes editing programs? I see the raised collar and the fabric "flaps" at the hemline. Sincerely, Bill
Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread" I did, indeed - I used CrossDresser to convert; it even carried over the original morphs .
Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread" Kinda' like a transporter malfunction fusing "Star Trek" with "Strawberry Shortcake". Sincerely, Bill
