Even before the final Harry Potter novel was published there were whispers that JK Rowling was planning to do a Harry Potter Encyclopedia which, far from being a concordance, was basically going to fill in a lot of backstory and answer questions left open by the books. She even went so far as to sue a guy who tried to publish his own. The idea died out after a while and with the announcement of her new non-fantasy novel it looked like it might not have been happening. It was I believe, once thought that Pottermore would have contained the Encyclopaedia, but this doesn't seem to be the case.
