And beams a photon torpedo onto a borg cube. Of course it works and the cube explodes.

    :guffaw:

Some more of that epic realism for ya.

To be fair, Harry beamed a torpedo onto Voyager because it seemed like a nice bloke in warhead.

    he's consistent.

And he safed Voyager from being attacked by the Nasari in "Favourite son" - but that was only due to instincts that were caused by his recently reprogrammed DNA...

His instincts also told him to shag his sisters and cousins in that episode.

"Don't worry harry, among our people inbreeding is applauded."

Harry had bad luck getting laid. There was also that time where he hooked up with that alien on the generation ship, and got an STD.

    "lust in space"

I think he totally forgot to boff Libby when he fell back to earth in Non sequitor.

Or apologizing for cheating on her with all those double dates he had with Paris.

Harry is just a little too realistic for my tastes in these scenarios. Forgets to boff the gf in his fantasy but manages to boff his relatives while in someone elses fantasy?!

It's better that when he retains spunk for 15 years, mooning over Chakotays girlfriend.

If the universe didn't implode when it did, he would have exploded.

That's his problem, the man is in a permanent moon. He is addicted to unrequited build up. All his consumations have probably been disappointing so he's in a state of anticapatory postponement forever.

Every week that's what they say is wrong with the serial killers on criminal minds.

They live in a constant state of sublimation, and so dose Harry Kim

If only Harry could have thought of the photon torpedo with a timer idea oh in... Caretaker... they would have all gotten home in episode one. ;)

Yeah both Harry and Janeway really slipped up there, you know give the torpedo a nice little timer, enough time to use the Caretaker away to form a rift to take them back to the Alpha Quadrant and hey presto! No array for those Kazon to use, and everyone would be back home!

But then VOY really would be TNG 2 and not just TNG lite...

Perhaps the writers would have been forced to be a bit more imaginative with the story...

    Oh well...

A torpedo with a timer, just because it worked against the Borg, it doesn't mean that such an intelligent and dynamic species as the Kazon would be just as dense.

Nah the Kazon would be just as dense, just look at Maj Cullah...

Well I consider it more poor writing than anything... I get they wanted to make Janeway look authoritative and be the one to "make the call" and what not. But really they just made her look dumb in that one.. a bit of tweaking to the script could have fixed that easy enough too.

Yea, they should have let her make the attempt to fire up the Array, and it shorted out, or the Kazon started firing and set off a chain reaction or something

    Then she's a loser.

How they wrote the episode showed that Janeway was willing to sacrifice a lot to save the weak and defenceless even if it meant breaking binding and holy rules like the Prime Directive.

And that's exactly how it should be.

Enough with this pesky photon torpedo question!
