So the Giants open the season being swept and had a game they SHOULD HAVE WON but choked it away. New year, same team. I already feel bad for the pitchers.

And the Mets swept the Braves. That woulda been nice a decade ago.

And the Twins get swept by Baltimore. Hard to stay optimistic after that start.

I'm thinking in fantasy baseball my new strategy should be to pick up all the Twins' opposing pitchers that are available each week.

This is the best start I could have hoped for them. I love how they're still riding last September's momentum without skipping a beat.

I'm pretty sure they started 0 - 6 last year. Small sample size and all that.

Yeah, I'm not ready to start panicking just yet. The Red Sox always seem to start slow.

And there is a win. And Felix Doubront looked pretty damn good.

I wonder if Ozzie Guillen will still have a job when this day is done...

    5 game suspension for Ozzie.

I don't really care what he says one way or another, but in an area loaded with Cuban defectors, it might be smarter to keep it to himself.

Drive drunk: Nothing happens to you. Mouth off about a Communist dictator: Suspended for five games. God, baseball is weird.

Well, my thought was "only in Miami" would someone be suspended for that. Elsewhere he would have been forced to apologize, but not suspended.

Ozzie blames it on an English/Spanish translation issue. :guffaw:

Gimme a break. Ozzie has a reasonably decent grasp of English.

Cubs are finally finding some offense the last couple days.

Up 8-0 on the Cards right now in the 3rd. LaHair squeaked out a grand slamma jamma just now and Stewart had a HR in the 1st.

What's up with the gold lettering on the backs of the Cardinal uniforms? You can hardly see it.

What a day for Matt Cain. He made that look way too easy and man was that fun to watch. If only it wasn't the freaking pitcher. Oh well. Perfect game would have been nice, what he did do was incredible.

The Red Sox get a much-needed win in their home opener by blasting the Tampa Bay bullpen.

And then Jacoby Ellsbury goes down with a possible dislocated shoulder.

Yeah, this season's gonna be fun.

On this road trip I've been on, I actually got to see the Mets beat the Phillies...at Citizens Bank Park. That made my week. :)
