MUSIC: J. Goldsmith? First Contact? theme lyrics?

Back in 199X, during the forming years of the Internet, I seem to remember reading something about LYRICS for Voyager's main title theme. It went like:

*some verse*
have you ever heard the tale of
the Voyager
the Voyager
the Voyager

I also may or may not remember reading about how Goldsmith sumbitted some song he composed for Voyager but it was rejected, then he composed the theme that was used. This rejected theme eventually was recycled for First Contatct (or the other way around).

Anyway, anyone know anyhthing about those or did I hallucinated all that? (could be, I know)

That said, the guy must have gotten some pretty harsh feedback though considering he no longer allows comments nor embedding the video. So, I kinda feel bad for him.

But yeah....

 

Fortunately, I stopped it before he hit the high note. I think's he's a natural baritone trying to sing tenor and he's tone deaf. But I only have one working ear.

And gee, I wonder why comments are disabled for that video?

 

We ALL know why...jeez, do we have to say it aloud? What if the dude is lurking the forum RIGHT NOW?

 

It's probably that Star Wars guy and he uploaded it 5 years ago just to mess with us.

 

I like how his uniform is Halloween orange.

 

Also y'all gotta watch this one for at least the first line.. though if you listen to the whole thing you'll be treated to an even HIGHER note.

I can't even thoroughly enjoy the VOY theme anymore because in my head I'm singing "In the DELLLLLTAAAA Oh please come home... oh Voyager... come hooooome."

I have to say though...it's better than that DS9 one.

 

Yeah the DS9 one needs more cheese.

We VOY folk of course have plenty of cheese. In sickbay.
