I would love to have Cumberbatch in the SW movies. He'd make a kick ass Sith. Hell, I'd accept him as a Palpatine clone (see: Dark Empire comics), just straight up fucking over anyone that got in his way.

If it's a tiny role in Ep. VII, maybe he still Khan come back for Star Trek XIII? *hopes*

That was my thought as well. A small SW role would make it far easier for Khan to return. We'll see.

Was anything ever said about Cumby signing for more that one Trek films? I don't remember any mentions.

Ah, so there's a possibility he'll be in Star Wars because and there will be until we see the movie's credits and that he's not in the movie all because of all the denials that he would be playing Khan? This is the perfect example of why the constant secrecy surrounding STID was a mistake, it sets precedent for anything to be believed.

I find this "controversy" particularly inane. It's one thing to keep a secret about whether or not a character is in a film (that's sort of a plot reveal). But whether or not an actor is in the film? Who cares?

Whatever his role, they better be traditional and dub his voice over with an unfitting, accentless American one.

Referring to James Earl Jones' neutral stage-accented deep voice being dubbed over David Prowse's mildly West Country-accented and not-very-deep voice?

Okay. But last time I checked, Vader wasn't an Imperial Admiral nor brought up in the Empire.

Not to mention he was a cyborg and had lost his natural voice.

Besides, weren't all the imperial admiral guys played by English actors? With accents intact? :)

Not necessarily, he could be a bad guy only in the next Star Wars movie only to get killed at the end but leave a child behind.

Also, a reference to the fact that most of the Imperial troops and other secondary characters (Mos Eisley bartender) in Ep. IV spoke in strong English accents, which were dubbed over for the American audience.

I watched some behind the scenes stuff with Prowse talking as Vader, and nearly fell out of my chair laughing. His voice would not have worked for Vader. James Earl Jones just sounds menacing whenever he speaks, his voice fit that character perfectly. Also, Cumberbatch would probably be using his own voice, like he did as Khan. The man has one of the best voices of any actor working today. He's also so ridiculously awesome and charismatic that he could make reading a menu at Wendy's sound badass.
