New listing for an Original Series novel, written by David R. George III, at Simon & Schuster: http://books.simonandschuster.com/S...e-Red-Ensign/David-R-George-III/9781476700229 As the "February" release (out end of January), this should therefore be the first release on the 2013 publishing schedule. Not sure about this - the last three DRGIII novels have been rather disappointing IMO, and certainly not up to his best. I shall see how the Typhon Pact duology holds up before deciding whether to pre-order.
Well, this is Star Trek, so a malfunctioning ketchup dispenser could undoubtedly butterfly into a quadrant-spanning emergency ... always trouble with high-stakes technology like that.
I guess that puts an end to the "S&S lost the licence and won't be doing 2013's books" rumour that there was a thread about on here a month or so back.
Very interesting. Unlike some people I've liked pretty much all of his stuff that I read (including Rough Beasts...), so I'll be looking forward to this.
Or how about an epic mini-series set in the Heinz Expanse, showing an eclectic group of characters trying to solve the mystery of the meta-recipe?
I'm sure the pun inherent in the title is intentional. It's probably not about redshirt security guards, that's just a hook to lure in the reader (how many people even know that the word 'ensign' can also refer to a flag?). And it seems to be working.
Outside of America, quite a few. However, Trek is an American series so the majority of it's fans probably don't.
