This is creating more speculation on Harrisons character on other forums. My first initial thoughts was that he was Arn Darvin, a Klingon infiltrator but this time a augment with superior strength. And with Kirk and crew chasing him to the Klingon home world just confirms my position that I could be right.

And what do you think these two redshirts are looking at on John Harrisons back? Look at their eye positions.

Ohh, come on, that's nothing more than a tight shirt over a normal human spine! Good grief, the desperation with which people are trying to read spoilers into every inconsequential detail of this film just keeps getting more and more pathetic.

Nope. Those are ridges. He's a Klingon augment who's infiltrated Starfleet.

This is obviously a Klingon ridge graft. Klingons are probably paying him a small fortune to grow these on his back, to be transplanted onto foreheads of unfortunate suckers who contracted teh afflikshun.

How much more speculation on these unspecified and un-linked other forums, I wonder?

The apparent bumps got one passing mention in another thread here - one - and it may have been less than completely serious. And (until this thread) no one's mentioned thinking that the redshirts were looking at Harrison's back; guy on the right seems to be looking at or past the redshirt next to him, anyway, rather than at Harrison.

It's a tight shirt. Cumberbatch's head is slightly bowed.

It's the actor's spine, dudes. Get over it.

That would explain his super-human strength.

You know, we could just sit back and wait for the movie . . . :)

I know, I know. It's fun to speculate, but let's not get carried away here. It's kinda scary how fast the latest theory can go from wild rumor to an article of faith these days.

Two weeks from now, people will be talking as though this "Klingon infiltrator" theory was a matter of fact.

"But I thought it was confirmed he was Klingon . . . "

You'd think they'd have caught that during his first medical.

As utterly stupid a theory as this is, it's not really hurting anyone is it? Let people have their fun.

Absolutely. I remember spending hours back in the eighties debating who "the other" Yoda mentioned in Empire was. It's inevitable that people are going to speculate about upcoming high-profile movies.

Just as long as people remember they're just theories.

I keep bumping into people on-line who genuinely seem to think that it's been "confirmed" that the villain is Gary Mitchell or Khan or a Klingon or whomever. And so misinformation spreads like wildfire . . . even unto IMBD. :)

Clearly this is undeniable proof that Harrison is a Borg. Think about it.

Shilliam Watner has made Benedict Cumberbatch cry.

Shame on you, Shilliam. (Say that three times fast)
