I thought of this idea for a thread when reflecting about "New Coke." I'm too young to have tried it when it was briefly in restaurants. When I was a kid, you could still see it in convenience stores as "Coke II," but I didn't know about what it was at that point. I largely missed out on "crystal pepsi" as well.

I think my answer would be Hershey's S'mores bars. Those things were good, and I didn't realize until recently that they were discontinued. For a while I just thought they were really hard to find.

They should have like a company or website that solely produces and sells discontinued snacks and drinks. That would be cool.

It was good. But not much was needed for a serving, so there was reduced profit and the manufacturer stopped making it.

The original Crystal Pepsi, not that reformulated bullshit they tried after.

McDonald's had a chicken flatbread sandwich for a short time that was really good.

Baja chalupas at Taco Bell. Some TBs still have Baja sauce if you ask for it, but they're becoming fewer and fewer.

Most of all I miss Diet Coke with Lemon. I used to go through liters of that stuff every day.

Team Flakes cereal. God, I loved that stuff as a kid. Even now I can taste it just thinking of the name.

Flakes with the same flavor are used in some current cereal mixed with a lot of other bullshit– Honey Bunches of Oats, maybe? I can't recall – but they don't make just the flakes, plain, any more. So sad. :(

I really miss McDonald's cherry pies. Apparently some locations have baked cherry pies (I haven't seen any), but I'm not talking about those. I mean the original version. They, and the apple pies at the time, were fried I think, or at least not baked like they are now.

    Also, Twinkies. :(

Twinkies are coming back this summer! In the mean time you can still purchase them online, if you don't mind paying $4 for a pack of two.

Josta was pure awesomeness in liquid form. I was saddened when it was discontinued and it left a hole in my life that wasn't filled until I discovered Jagermeister a few years later.

If Jager is ever discontinued, there will be hell to pay!

    Junk food!

As in Scooterpies, the original ones before they redid them to make them similar to Moonpies in taste.

    Burrie's Fudgetown cookies.

    Archway Chocolate Chip Drop cookies.

Damn....if I could even have one of the three back.

Until I read this thread I had totally forgot about the Hershey's Smores candy bars. Too bad they don't make them anymore, I remember them being quite good.

I remember New Coke as well, I don't recall if I ever drank it though, I was still pretty young when it briefly came out (around ten or so).

Yoplait's Custard Style Strawberry yogurt. No one around here carries it anymore. Fuck that fruit at the bottom stuff. I want Custard Style! :scream:

My hubby absolutely LOVED Betty Crocker Cinnamon Swirl Cake mix, but they discontinued it.

My ultimate missed food is Callard & Bowser butterscotch candies. My Mom bought me a box whenever we went downtown or to the theater. I loved everything about it--the fancy white box, the shiny paper and how one piece could last for several minutes---a glorious little eternity to a little kid. *sigh*
